Why doesn’t he just say they’re down 6 billion percent. It’s just as stupid
Trump: "I don't get credit for anything. Even prescription drug prices, where they're down 600 percent."

Someone give this man the Order of Canada for this
Ever worked with Beyond 20/20 IVT files and enjoyed it? Me neither. Until today. The canivt package parses IVT files and converts them to parquet or CSV, enabling the use of IVT files in modern data workflows.
Seriously, how much longer are we all going to keep doing this? Getting tired of living the international trade version of Groundhog Day. Would love to see a strong retaliation by Canada and others

“Ford resurrected his suggestion Canada cut off energy supplies to its southern neighbour” That’s what I’m talkin about

A) rip up the Gordie Howe bridge arrangement (which sucked anyway) B) get Doug Ford on the phone and let him impose the electricity export surcharges again
Trump's new 50% tariff to hit even CUSMA-compliant goods | CBC News

Yeah no problem, we’ll just spend infinite dollars and hours going over all 370 million hectares of forest I assume we can tariff the US when their wildfire smoke drifts over our border?
I thought that we all learned during COVID what the various types of masks do, and yet I see many people walking around with surgical masks as a safety measure in the smoky air.
“I'm glad they did that but they don't really get credit for doing something bad and then undoing it," Greer said. He said this apparently without any irony whatsoever

I kind of feel bad for Taco Bell. They already had a reputation for causing diarrhea, and then this lettuce thing happens totally outside of their control.
Lettuce at Taco Bell in 5 U.S. states confirmed as source of a diarrhea-causing parasite outbreak
U.S. federal health officials have identified lettuce from Mexico served at Taco Bell locations across five U.S. states as a source of the widespread outbreak of diarrhea-causing parasite cyclospora.

Browsing through the TV guide and there doesn’t appear to be any channel airing Trump’s stupid speech. I assume some of the news channels will cut into it
Unpopular opinion, but I like the time change because it avoids the extremes of very early or very late sunrise at different times of the year where I live.
Daylight time: As U.S. moves to abolish the switch, where does Canada stand?
The U.S. House voted to enact year-round daylight time across the country. Here's what similar movements in Canada have looked like in recent years.

So the explosive diarrhea issue is coming mainly from people eating at Taco Bell? Are we sure it's the bacteria and not just their regular food that's causing this?
The cyclosporiasis outbreak has sickened thousands of people nationwide, and Michigan has been the hardest hit.
The driving phenomenon that bugs me most is when an accident on one side of a divided highway causes a huge traffic backup on the other side
Do we really have to specify that it's *explosive* diarrhea? Is noting that it's diarrhea not enough?
The parasite causing explosive diarrhea could reach Canada if U.S. can’t find the cause soon, says expert
A problematic parasite often linked to certain fruits and vegetables that’s driving an explosive outbreak in the U.S. has caught the attention of Canadian public health officials.

About to take the Canadian boat license exam, and came across this unfortunate typo
This dickhead is back in the news, this time trying to double talk about whether or not Canada paid for the Gordie Howe bridge. Says it’s a myth, but then goes on to say that Canada provided all the financing up front. He needs to leave, like now.
Canada paying to construct Gordie Howe bridge is 'big myth', according to Ambassador Pete Hoekstra
Pete Hoekstra insists that Canada footing the bill for the bridge “is the big myth that is out there."

The text of the deal is very simple and straightforward, and the US admin is pissing on your leg and telling you it’s raining
"It takes a special kind of liar—a complete phony—to sign a written agreement with Iran and then lie to you about what is literally in the agreement. And that is exactly what JD Vance, our beloved vice president, is doing this week." www.thebulwark.com/p/the-stagge...
Is he really out there saying that no part of the $300 billion will come from the U.S.? What a clown.
Vance: Obama's Iran deal gave them $1 billion. This one gives them nothing.
I get that Carney felt the need to praise this Iran deal as part of a general pivot at the moment to ingratiating himself with Trump. But I'm not sure a politician benefiting from an unusual amount of trust is best to use that capital telling the public stuff he can't possibly believe is true.
If this is indeed the full agreement, it seems like a big defeat for the U.S. Giving up a lot to get what they had under Obama's deal, in addition to the huge cost of the war itself.
