If you study the successful rebellions and resistance and civil rights movements of the past, you will note that “people who spend their time publicly bumming out everyone around them by emphasizing how totally fucked everything is” do not play a central role, or indeed, any role at all

I continue to believe that in times like these, we all share a collective duty NOT to splatter our demotivating feelings of doom and despair all over everybody else in public. I don’t care if it makes YOU feel better. This isn’t about YOU. Deal with those feelings outside of public venues.

The reason there's no working class representation in publishing is because publishing and writing currently pay so badly only people who are already financially stable can afford to do it. The problem is always, always money.

Say it after me: Chat GPT is not a search engine. It does not scan the web for information, it just generates statistically likely sentences. You cannot use it a search engine, or as a substitute for searching. Now. Please never use an LLM for information searches ever again.

I don't have much following here but I'll say it anyway: There are a lot of bad actors in pub calling themselves "agents", and I see writers falling prey every day. if you’re querying and trying to vet literary agents, if you’re new to this and don’t have access to whisper networks, my DMs are open!
