Papers in elite general science journals describe research that costs a lot of money (on average). No real data on that as far as I know
Kudos to @science.org for this self-analysis of the peer review process. These kind of data are never shared and don't have to be. Wildly refreshing to see it out in the open. Editorial and peer review dynamics at elite general science journals | Science Advances www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
This book by Kang Wu is all about #tidyplots 🤩 It’s packed with beautiful example plots and their code. Kang really pushes #tidyplots to its limits—and sometimes even beyond 😂 tidyplots-book.pages.dev @wukang.bsky.social #rstats #dataviz #phd

Happy to see our Editorial in #JACC out! Proteome-wide MR is a powerful causal inference tool, but careful interpretation is essential. We discuss triangulation of evidence across ancestries, proteomic assays, and observational analyses. authors.elsevier.com/a/1nWYi2d9GI...
arXiv📈🤖 A Unified Three-Stage Weighting Framework for Causal Inference and Mediation Analysis under Case-Control Sampling By Islam, Latif
I mean my field(s) are 95-98% “best we can do” in terms of causal inference. And especially in human genetics (strong theory) it’s worked like near magic…
One of my empirical-work econ takes is that I think academia should be *more* open to publishing work based on best-we-can-do weak data, as long as there's really no other way to address the question and that work is very clear about what it can and can't actually say.
The team developed a DNA sequencing platform to detect and identify residual plant and animal DNA from food in wastewater samples. Results from a test of the platform, called FoodSeq-FLOW, were published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science on July 20, 2026.
