Have been sleeping poorly so took an extra magnesium last night. They already give me vivid dreams but this time featured berserker Jonathan Price wielding a broadsword and screaming as he threatened a sentient can of tuna named Jim. Two pills going forward, it is.
New player in our roleplaying group is Russian, with a thick accent. Immediate preemptive apology from me as we kick off and I drop into my character's terrible Russian facsimile.
Yeeeeees. I adore the #Metro franchise (apart from the repetitive NPC dialogue, hope they've improved that). And they're bringing back the otherworldly elements! Wicked.

I wanted to like the Odyssey, and I did, viewed through the lens of a fantasy rather than, well, The Odyssey. It was good and obnoxious and entertaining and infuriating and very, very Nolan. IMAX visuals: Thumbs up. IMAX sound: Overwhelming/hideous. I'm glad I saw it. I'll never watch it again.

Soooo this was unplanned. This stray kitten has been hanging out on the street for weeks and circled me as I walked home. Finally it toodled over and into my arms and its cold so I brought it inside and its devouring everything it can while Tempest growls menacingly on the other side of the door.
New Spodeyman is good; no world-ending stakes, but a smaller (potatoes) more personal story. A few clunky moments, a few little plot holes, Frank vs Punisher: One Last Kill was a little jarring, but it worked. A little Cronenberg, a little bukkake, a lot of fun. More of that please Marvel.
A third of the way through Malice, I was still struggling with so many viewpoints. Halfway through, I was an addict needing another hit, staying up each night to devour more pages. I'm not often one for epic fantasy but @johngwynneauthor.bsky.social crafted a masterpiece of a series.
We were taught about the Edsel's failure in Design at Uni. I hope the Cybertruck is adopted to replace it as the standard-bearer of failure.

#Writing update. Realised the three arcs of my story had blended together somewhat, my last mad rush single-pass edit making their styles too uniform, so am doing another pass making sure each character has their own voice. Slow progress, but progress nonetheless. I hope this isn't rubbish.

Work has increased our yearly wellness allowance to $600 and I'm wondering if I can persuade them that my wellness would be improved with a $600 sword.
@sincendiary.bsky.social and her stack of power tools and hammers has taken over the lounge for a project, while I've just gotten home with the grocery shopping and plan to settle down with a book. We definitely don't do stereotypical gender roles in this house.
