I feel wildly at odds with most people. Especially those who fallen into AI-dependancy but not for why you might think. The sycophantic nature of AI is appealing to most people, it seems, that endless parade of praise is a dopamine machine. But that kind of praise Infuriates me.

🫱🏼‍🫲🏻 I made about a dozen images on wombo dream maybe five or six years ago before I knew what a morally bankrupt tech it was. I got bored because it's the opposite of creativity. I've not used AI voluntarily since. (Idk if it's hidden in things I've used without realising.)

it's weird to me how many people are still big into Al and at this point it's not even because I think it's shitty for the environment or plagiaristic or lacking in creativity, although I do think all those things are true, but mostly because I see people who get addicted to the dopamine and the people who go into psychosis and the people who can't even use a search engine anymore unless it chats with them and people who can't even write a fanfic without feeding it into an Al in order to find out if it's any good; people are asking ai chatbots to answer their emails and their texts, people are acting like basic tasks that we all did a few years ago without thinking about it are beyond their ability to do without the automated plagiarism slop machine.
and I'm like
why would I risk this happening to my brain?
like absent of anything else, and all the other reasons I'm against GenAl use, it seems like it's making people so reliant on it that they're losing the ability to use their brains.
I recently had someone ask if they could feed my fic into
ChatGPT "to see what he thought of it"
to me this is actively terrifying. people are unlearning how to think. even if there was nothing else bad about GenAl Insimply am not willing to risk doing this to my one irreplaceable and already easily tired brain. I need to do stuff to make it more resilient, more capable, more agile, not use a thing that is doing this to people. the last thing any of us needs is to outsource our thinking. that's how you stop being able to think.

Exactly the kind of Individualist nonsense I expect to see from a "news" organisation called USA TODAY. Because, yeah, the USA of today is an Individualist nightmare, and one mayor trying to inject some communalism into his community is a fucking beacon of HOPE in that nightmare.

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

Because of how they're produced, I am terrified of missing out on a Transformer I want. Especially because they go up in price on the after market. It sucks. Especially now with base prices going up in EVERYTHING, so I have to be even more selective on which TF to get, which sucks even more.
