He's now resorting to trying to buy the election. Federal law makes it unlawful to knowingly and willfully pay, offer to pay, or accept payment for registering to vote or for voting. (52 U.S.C. §10307(c).) Any type of incentive is considered “payment.”
Trump is trying his hardest to silence millions of Americans who will hold him accountable this November. We won’t let him.
Deliberately crashing the American economy—costing American families well over $5,000 each—and then promising to pay those families back $5,000 but *only if* they keep letting him abuse them and the country for two more years... ...is some *seriously* dark, domestic-abuser shit.
So Trump is promising all adult citizens $5,000 if Republicans win the next election. Where's he going to find 1 trillion, 349 billion dollars? There are people in this country dumb enough to believe this is going to happen, and this is why we can't have nice things.
I think nix the "basically"? Pretty sure this is an election crime.

The promise, made at the GOP's midterm convention in Dallas, could cost over $1 trillion and would require congressional approval.
If this guy ever dares get in front of reporters again, I sure as hell hope one of them asks him why he's so comfortable breaking the law. Not just the Hatch Act, but Blanche has said he sees nothing wrong with sending troops to polling locations. That's illegal. Why is the AG so willing to crime?
