The video game industry has always been volatile (I published Press Reset in 2021!) but the skeleton key to understanding the current state of things is this: Big games now cost 10x to make what they did 15 years ago but most do not generate even close to 10x the revenue. Simple as that

Sadly I’m one of the affected members. I love KO_OP and it’s hard to imagine working anywhere else. Manifesting that they get a pitch funded soon so that the studio can keep going strong. Rest in peace, Mike McFarland. Had the pleasure of working with him and whenever we exchanged messages/interacted over the years, he was always nothing if not a kind, stand up dude. Seeing everyone’s outpouring of love for him is a testament to how good of a guy he was.
