The unhoused and poverty situation in Fredericton is heartbreaking, with so much pain and systemic failures. It’s also showing the worst side of the community, with judgement, ridicule, and lack of empathy permeating FB groups. Do better.

To George and Laura, Bill and Hillary — we're grateful for your friendship, counsel, and devotion to this country. And to Joe and Jill, thank you for being on this journey with us.

I want to understand how this happened. Beyond supply and demand. Because it’s more than that. Plus, what does the future hold? #Fredericton #Housing

Can we talk about the fact that new homeowners, you know the young millennials and Gen Zers, have been almost completely priced out of the #Fredericton single family #home market? Six years ago, in my neighbourhood, there was a mix of price points. Now? Nothing <$400k. This is a problem. #Housing

A great write-up in The Saturday Paper of a big new report from Greenpeace Australia Pacific which I led. It is heartening how seriously our warning has been taken, and how a whole bunch of stories that have come out in the days since we published just completely vindicated everything we've said :)

You know what heritage has a longer history than horse racing in #Fredericton? Education. We have the oldest post-secondary in Canada, the oldest engineering school in Canada, and FHS is the oldest english speaking HS (institution, not building) in Canada. Our kids deserve that space for a new MS.

Speaking at her last council meeting on Monday, Mayor Kate Rogers appeared proud of the progress made on the redevelopment in recent months. "I want a school there. And you know what? It's gonna happen," Rogers said. ...Kate Rogers should be proud! #Fredericton www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

The clock is ticking for new homes to be found for about 30 horses stabled at a property near downtown Fredericton that is set to accommodate a new school.

Nothing I care more about in Freddy right now than getting the GSMS replacement situated at the NBEX grounds... (a better active transportation network is a close second, followed by the redevelopment of Kings Place and the pedestrianization of King Street. Devon MS redev is up there, too).

Congrats to Julie K. Brown! She was awarded a #Pulitzer Prize special citation today for her groundbreaking reporting in 2017 & 2018 for the Miami Herald exposing Jeffrey Epstein's systematic abuse of young women and the justice system & powerful network of associates that protected him for years.

A powerful narrative portrait of Julie K. Brown, the Miami Herald investigative journalist celebrated for her "Perversion of Justice" series, which exposed the crimes of Jeffrey Epstein and led to her 2026 Pulitzer Prize special citation. Brown sits in the heart of a newsroom, leaning forward with her hands clasped over the back of a vibrant lime-green chair. Her expression is steady and resolute, a faint, knowing smile playing on her lips. She has shoulder-length, strawberry-blonde hair and wears a crisp, white short-sleeved linen top. Her look is punctuated by bold, artistic accessories: a long necklace featuring large, multi-colored geometric beads and matching statement earrings. The background is filled with the tools of her trade: Dell computer monitors and large wall-mounted screens displaying blurred news segments, including one featuring her own likeness. The composition is balanced and centered, capturing a mood of quiet authority and tireless determination. This image stands as a tribute to Brown’s historical significance in journalism, marking her as a champion for victims whose reporting forced a global reckoning on power and systemic failure.

I don’t understand why kids having a healthy/new school that they can roll/walk to isn’t a priority for all. GSMS is 100 years old. The province made mistakes and didn’t retain/buy urban land, the lack of forecasting is pretty 👎. But we have an opportunity to clean up a super under-utilized site…

George St Middle School isn’t aging (well, everythg is aging). It’s aged. Done. Like needed replacement years ago. Probably when I went there in the late 90s. We need a new urban middle school on the south side asap.

Great to see Canada’s continued commitment to nature conservation with @mark-carney.bsky.social’s announcement of a $3.8 billion plan including for new national parks & marine conservation areas conserved areas - an important step to the goal of protecting 30% of lands & waters by 2030!

Canada’s natural beauty is central to our history, our identity, and our way of life — and we’re going to protect it.

One of the biggest issues with our healthcare here, besides the lack primary care, is the lack of evenings/weekends non-urgent walk-in care. If we want to reduce ER load, provide other options. Pediatric after hours, eldercare after hours, etc, normal walk in clinics. What went so wrong here?

A politician with the guts to say it: "No American child from the blue collar or the middle class should have to die fighting in Iran. Let the Epstein class fight the Epstein War." - Premier Wab Kinew at the NDP national convention, Winnipeg.
