Something I find fascinating about capitalism is how it is somehow simultaneously bad yet desirable. See also: ‘economic migrants’ - the adjective makes it dirty, despite this being the motive for basically all migration.

Actually they mostly use an integrated frame lock, popular in the Netherlands (and a lot of Europe). But even these assume a lower risk of theft, since you can simply lift the bike up (it just immobilises the rear wheel)

No gates on public transport. You buy a ticket and present it if asked. Didn’t see any ticket inspectors. High trust societies are good.
