Channeling #Hamilton to the melody of Wait For It to drum up comments opposing the OMB Rule proposal. TODAY is the deadline for the #BigBeautifulResponse. Cancer doesn't discriminate between the sinners and the saints.... @hamiltonmusical.bsky.social @biophysicalsoc.bsky.social 1/7

🚨 HEADS UP: If you haven't submitted a comment on the OMB proposal yet, there's still time - but it's running out! There are only 2 days left to push back against Russell Vought's attempt to give political appointees unprecedented control over federal research funding. Take Action: zurl.co/qTjQP

Graphic from Stand Up for Science urging action on a federal funding proposal. Large text reads: "2 Days Left" and "Help Us Stop Vought From Destroying American Science." A portrait of Russell Vought appears beside the U.S. Capitol. A banner along the bottom reads: "Submit a comment on the OMB proposal | Link in bio to take action." The Stand Up for Science logo appears in the top left.

Monday is the deadline for public comment! The Heritage Foundation has been mobilizing its members to leave comments in favor of the rule change, so every unique comment matters (don’t use a form letter or copy/paste—similar comments are batched and treated as one).

There's an OMB rule change that would require political oversight of scientific grants, and could pull any that don't "reflect presidential priorities" Another country has tried this before! It was the USSR and it was called Lysenkoism. By @thsaey.bsky.social www.sciencenews.org/article/omb-...

For folks asking why bother commenting because the OMB won't care: comments help build cases for the courts by explicitly laying out harms. That's why it's really important to have your comments be as specific as possible. Also, contact your senators and reps! They actually do care about this.

I don’t think people really understand how bad the OMB proposed rule is going to be for state and local govt. We’re talking about putting a full third of state budgets under the explicit control of Russ Vought. (1/2) www.bondbuyer.com/news/cities-...

Cities, states warn of credit impact from proposed federal grant rule

Discretionary termination of grants allowed under the rule would pose a particular risk, issuer advocates said.

Hey, All! We've got less than a week (July 13) to submit comments to the Federal Register opposing horrible OMB rules allowing political appointees to terminate US scientific & medical research. This BPS link and my earlier links make it EASY to write your letter. I submitted mine! Let's do this!

If you enjoyed my video yesterday more than you enjoyed the USA soccer game last night (Congrats to Belgium!), you should check out my @biophysicalsoc.bsky.social blog post that tells you how to submit comments opposing the OMB rule proposal: www.biophysics.org/blog/what-is...

p.s. ANYBODY can submit a comment! You do NOT have to be a scientist or a medical professional. You do not have to be a US citizen. You can submit anonymously. If you or your loved ones benefit from scientific discoveries and medical advances in the US, your voice is especially important ♥️🔬

Could not agree more! Not only did Hillary beat the Orange Atrocity by 2.8 MILLION votes, but Al Gore got 543,895 MORE votes than Bush! The Electoral College allows candidates who received less votes to win the presidency. ABOLISH THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

It is super important for the recent OMB rule proposal to garner a #BigBeautifulResponse and receive lots of comments in opposition to the proposed changes. The Feds want to implement this October 1! Yikes! Join the @biophysicalsoc.bsky.social Webinar on Monday to learn more.
