I was going to bring up the clips of the Doctor Mike podcast as soon as I saw the name Gundry only to notice it's mentioned in the screenshot and embedded in the article. Anyway, Gundry is a smug, insufferable jerk. It's like nails on chalkboards listening to even the short clips I've seen.

I'm calling it: "Start smoking" is going to be mainstream MAHA / Republican health advice by 2028. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

There is no rigorous evidence that Gundry’s lectin-free diet works and may actually be harmful, according to Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Gundry has also pushed questionable theories about other health topics too. In an episode on the popular Doctor Mike’s YouTube channel in defense of his diet, Gundry argued that smoking can actually make some people live longer. It finally took my pro-vaccine dad reading Gundry’s Wikipedia page—which includes Gundry’s claim in an abstract that mRNA Covid vaccines “dramatically increase” inflammation—for him to leave me alone on this topic. A Reuters report says that Gundry’s abstract, which also received an extensive correction, doesn’t contain “reliable evidence.” Conversely, research does show that Covid vaccines decrease inflammatory markers when people get a Covid infection.

how cool is it that one company owns the venues and the ticketing and the promotion and the music press and also a bunch of the artists

i modified my overnight oats recipe to be sort of a peaches and cream flavor (still used overripe bananas, but also chopped peaches and vanilla protein powder instead of peanut butter protein powder) and it's really good, despite the peaches themselves being meh.

see, we have to have in-office days so i can find a sole airpod near the kitchen sink, send out an all staff email about it, only to learn it's my coworker who works right across from me and have a good laugh about it. someone else added an "are you my mother?" post-it to the situation. 😆

Last fall I wore a long black trench coat to work and a coworker said I looked “very Peaky Blinders” (complimentary) and now 9 months later we just finished the first season of Peaky Blinders

I just moved a bunch of things in the basement up off the floor even though we have a backflow preventer. It’s hard not to be paranoid still! Watching sewer water gushing up the floor drains in our basement is indelibly etched in my brain.

this system reminds me way too much of the july 2023 floods block party might become “help people move stuff out of their basements” party

Despite somehow fucking up my back at the gym this morning, I managed a (shorter than usual) post-dinner walk and folding all my laundry. However I am concerned I won’t be able to/shouldn’t bike to work tomorrow. 🫤

got talked into multifocal contact lenses at the optometrist tonight and currently wearing a sample pair. i'm already a progressives glasses evangelist, so we'll see how my brain/eyes like these.

i want to kms every time i have this feeling, but i sort of like the conference merch for the hubspot conference. specifically this crewneck, which if you don't know what it is it would just look like i'm just walking around calling myself a crazy person.

a maroon crewneck sweatshirt with the word UNBOUND in orange spread across the shoulders and upper chest

i tried to take a video of the darkness of the sky before the rain started, but the phone camera tried to brighten everything up so it didn't capture it.

Our WiFi extender for the back of the house which includes my office isn’t working so I have to work from the couch until we have enough breaks in our respective workdays to troubleshoot/restart the whole system. I hates it!
