I've thoroughly enjoyed working with @natflashfictionday.bsky.social but it's time to hand over the reins to a new editor of the NFFD Anthology. Many thanks to all who submitted stories during my time as editor and best of luck to the new editor, who I know is going to have an amazing time.

We’re very sad to announce that after editing 5 NFFD anthologies, our anthology editor Karen Jones @karjon.bsky.social has decided to step down. Thank you Karen for all your hard work — you’ve been brilliant. We’ll be announcing our new anthology editor very soon! Watch this space.

Got last minute tickets to see this guy last night, so no time to get a skull cap - we had bald head envy all night. Oh, and there was torrential rain, because Glasgow, summer etc. Didn't stop us dancing and laughing all the way through.

'Europe must choose between AI and climate goals, data center lobby says' Um, OK, I choose a planet we can still live on rather than 'fun' AI animations and vile pornographic deepfakes, though, obviously, it's a very tough choice.

Friends—here are about 55 literary journals opening for submissions in July—some are open now or will close soon in June or July. Genres, themes, & guidelines vary—dates are tentative & all these should be no-fee submissions. There are more resources out there, including on here. Wish y’all well.

The Scottish people have spoken … and now Westminster will ignore our voice A pro-independence majority will be elected once again in the Scottish Parliament. And once again, London will deny a referendum This is a democratic outrage and it must be resisted My @heraldscotland.bsky.social column

The people have spoken – there will be a pro-indy majority but it will be ignored

Scotland faces another pro-independence Holyrood majority, yet another referendum remains impossible - trapping democracy in constitutional limbo.
