Counting down to April 2027! 🧠✨ I'm thrilled to be attending the upcoming EMBO Workshop Astrocytes: From Molecules to Systems" in Porto, Portugal (April 12–16, 2027). 👇 Drop a comment below if you'll be there or tag colleagues who shouldn't miss this! #EMBOAstrocytes

Thrilled to see our postdoctoral fellow Dr. @shinyayokomizo.bsky.social presenting at #AAIC26 in London! His research highlights how zolpidem enhances NREM sleep and reduces amyloid pathology. @brightfocus.bsky.social , @alzassociation.bsky.social , @curealzheimersfund.bsky.social

We’re excited to share that Tri, a postdoctoral fellow in our lab, will present their poster at the Sleep2026! #SLEEP2026, #MGB, #MGRI, @curealzheimersfund.bsky.social. @massgeneralbrigham.bsky.social

Excited to share a fascinating new study published in Alzheimer’s & Dementia: alz-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/... An FDA-approved hypnotic can enhance NREM sleep, reduce amyloid pathology, and improve memory, marking sleep as a promising and translational therapeutic avenue in AD.

Our recent study found that zolpidem, a widely prescribed sleep aid restored NREM sleep, reduced amyloid plaque burden, and improved memory performance in a mouse model of amyloidosis. www.alzforum.org/news/researc...

I recently had a privilege to speak with Josie Pittiglio-Vivona on the Parents Make A Difference podcast on the importance of mental health. See the podcast here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQzm...

Following our recent publication, we’re grateful to see this work featured as a research spotlight by Mass General Brigham. The study shows how stem cell–derived inhibitory neurons can restore disrupted sleep rhythms in an Alzheimer’s disease model. www.massgeneralbrigham.org/en/about/new...

New Publication Alert! Our latest study, led by Dr. Shinya Yokomizo (@shinyayokomizo.bsky.social), demonstrates that stem cell transplantation restores circuit function associated with sleep-dependent brain rhythms in Alzheimer’s models by integrating as functional GABAergic interneurons.

Looking forward to co-chairing our Mini-Symposium on Sleep and Alzheimer’s Disease with Haung (Ho) Yu at #SFN25!

For everyone attending Society for Neuroscience 2025 Conference, you are invited to stop by Kastanenka Lab poster! #SfN25

For everyone attending @alzassociation.bsky.social's International Conference #aaic2025, please stop by Kastanenka Lab poster presented by @shinyayokomizo.bsky.social on Sunday!

Glad we could contribute to this insightful study!
