Several people have asked about VAST OF NIGHT recently, as it's no longer streaming on Amazon. Spoke with director Andrew Patterson about it last night and he took the rights back, partnered with someone, and a physical and new streaming release is coming soon. So VAST OF NIGHT is coming back!

I hadn’t thought about AIR since I went to the premiere in 2023, then it basically disappeared, streaming on Prime. Out of nowhere it was on TNT last month and I’ve now seen it five times. I wrote about why filmmakers working for streamers should be negotiating basic cable runs

At Comic-Con Kevin Feige was asked about Doctor Doom’s rollout into the MCU compared to Thanos. In his answer he blamed me personally. This is, somehow, a true statement. Also, he makes a really great point

I really enjoyed TONY, but I continue to lightly bristle at anyone calling it "cute." On its own? Maybe? A little? It's pretty dark for "cute." But taken as a prologue to Bourdain's actual life? Not cute. (Good movie, though!)

Now that NIRVANNA THE BAND THE SHOW is on Hulu, I have the opportunity to yell at @mikeryan.bsky.social that “I want to go home so we can watch Matt Johnson go blind!!!!” with a fervency that’s probably terrifying for those who overhear us. :(

The thing about David Jonsson is that he can do ANYTHING. RYE LANE, ALIEN: ROMULUS, INDUSTRY, THE LONG WALK. What a run. He’ll be outstanding in BLACK PANTHER 3 because that’s his default setting.

Every single time I think about Larry King asking Mike if he’s “a nerd” like he’s cracking some wild anthropological study wide open, I laugh so hard.
