GLORIA vibes 😍😍😍 My debut domestic thriller (with a twist!) is getting a bit of an overhaul this year, but in the meantime, I’m refreshing the mood board ahead of the ebook being ON SALE next week 😁 💙📚👀

Demon WIP has cracked 2K words and the flow state is creeping in 😍 It always takes me a while to break into the beginning of a story, but I get there, the words just keep coming 💙📚

I may have spent an enormous amount of time playing Pokopia today, but I also managed to get some words down in my demon WIP 🙌🏻 😈 💙📚👀

Managed to write a few hundred words of my demon WIP this evening 🙌🏻 It’s been hard to find time to write between taking care of my blind doggo and trying to squeeze in my daily Pokopia (which are equally important endeavours of course), so I’m pleased 🥰 💙📚

This morning I visited the oldest public library in the English-speaking world, complete with a medieval catflap and the desk where Karl Marx sat with Friedrich Engels as they conducted research for The Communist Manifesto. It was bloody great 💙📚

I do worry that my Medusa retelling isn’t taking off as much as I’d hoped because it’s sapphic. And it hurts, because I love FF stories SO MUCH, and I just wish they were as popular as MM 😭 JUST LOOK AT THESE TWO 🥺 I wish they got the love they deserve 💙📚

Fun fact for all those who have been equally obsessed by the Artemis expedition this week: My publishing imprint (Arteminion Books) was also named after the Ancient Greek goddess - and the logo (containing both the moon and a bow, her signature weapon) features on the spines of both my novels 💙📚

I got home and opened up Google Docs to work on my demon WIP instead of immediately playing Pokopia! This is a good sign 💙📚👀

I have started drafting a new book 👀 Who’s here for spicy demons? 😈 💙📚👀

I’m afraid I’m going to be writing NOTHING while I have the distraction of Pokopia 😅🙈

Where are the readers who LOVE a book that makes them cry? 😭😭😭 Who wants to FEEL something when they read, even if it means having their heart ripped into pieces? Who rates a book higher the more DEVASTATED it makes you? WHERE ARE MY PEOPLE? 🥺🥺😭😭 💙📚👀

What if I told you my book is basically Song of Achilles if it was sapphic and about Medusa instead? WHAT THEN? 💙📚👀

Something EXCITING is in the works, and it’s nice to feel jazzed about something for a change 💙📚👀

Am I getting a lot done because… A) I just started taking stronger ADHD meds 💊 B) I’m procrastinating because I should be writing ✍️ C) The SUN is out ☀️ It’s fun not knowing, I suppose ✌🏻💙📚

Of course, after a period of not being sure what to work on, I now have THREE almost empty first drafts in my WIP folder 😅 💙📚

So, I may be retiring my dystopian WIP for the foreseeable future and writing a whole NEW dystopian, anti-hero WIP that’s been rattling around my head for about a year and is going to be fuelled by pure rage 🔥
