what world cup 2026 has shown me in regards to football outside of the pitch has been both ugly and beautiful, though the ugly parts are too loud. The amount of nonsensical bullshit I’ve seen and such casual xenophobia being thrown about is disgusting and I don’t see that diminishing at all sadly.
anyways, I’m sad that Messi is done with international football. His era and style of football is complete. I will be one of the very few online to say that I have enjoyed Argentina’s run this World Cup despite everything. While many say they’re dirty or whatever bullshit they wanna say -

And it is one of the truly least ball knowing arguments you can make. Tellingly not one being made by anybody who paid attention to soccer before this month.
