Ecosystem ecologist researches nitrogen cycling in pristine ecosystems. Focus on moss-cyanobacteria associations and nitrogen fixation.
#Moss- associated #NitrogenFixation happens across the globe; #diazotrophs are adapted to their local climate; hydration is equally crucial across climates; and #NitrogenFixers are very efficient in #mediterranean habitats! Much more to discover here: nph.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10....

#MossCyanobacteria interactions and #NitrogenFixation disentangled…need to go back to the basics…with model organisms!
In today's VOLT-all meeting we learnt about a cool model moss system to study interactions between mosses and cyanobacteria. Thomas Ammitsøe reported exciting findings related to nitrogen cycling in the system. We look forward to hearing what volatile signals are exchanged between the organisms.
