The smooth jazz was a nice addition to the atmosphere, something to distract from both of their worrying. Still holding eye contact with him, Mirage crossed one leg over the other and gave him a reassuring smile. "Don't worry about it, handsome...I'm a good listener."

Kayde smiled to himself when she patted the panda. It wasn't a big reaction. Most people probably would've missed it. He didn't. The way her expression softened for that brief second was worth every minute he'd spent wondering if bringing the plush had been a terrible idea. 🖊️
