The Passyunk Acme now has a big security gate where you have to scan your receipt to exit the self-checkout area and I think that's gonna be the final straw for me. It's already a terrible grocery store in pretty much every other way.

I just read an article where the Phillies' top draft pick modeled his game in part on Barry Bonds, and I'm kinda fascinated that an 18-year-old kid would find that an acceptable thing to say. Felt like there was such a long time when you had to treat Bonds like an evil specter haunting the sport.

People are apparently hearing that we'll be told when the first day of pre-k is at the initial parent orientation is on August 24th. Could be any time after that, including the next day. We have enough flexibility to not stress about it, but this can't possibly be how this is supposed to work.

This rain is my fault. I avoided telling my daughter all day that we were going to the Phillies game tonight as I watched the forecast get gradually better, and then as soon as I decided it was safe to do so the storm turned right back towards us, I guess?
