I care too fast and too much about people who definitely don’t care about me or don’t understand just how much I worry about them when they get sick. It’s difficult navigating that fine line between checking in with them and giving them space, and it hurts when others get updates but not me.

What we are witnessing is an outright abuse of power. This administration is attacking critics and using fear as a weapon to silence anyone who would speak out. Media corporations — from television networks to newspapers — are capitulating to these threats.

I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy. I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.

She transformed our understanding of chimpanzees. She redefined the relationship between humans and animals in ways that continue to emanate around the world. And when the scientific community attempted to dismiss her findings because she was an "untrained woman," she stood her ground.

"When I was a little girl, I used to dream as a man." Dr. Jane once said that, because she wanted to do what women simply didn't do back then – travel to Africa, live with wild animals, write books.  But that did not stop her. 📸: Caritas / Jane Goodall Institute / Marie Meloche / Shawn Sweeney

Do not give them violence. Do not play into their hands. Peaceful resistance and civil disobedience are our strongest tools. It’s time to start a movement of peaceful resistance and disobedience training throughout the nation and the world. 1/3
