A truly sobering time at #allotment #allotmentlife. Four months with no rain to speak of and a month of hosepipe ban. So different from even one month ago, with plum trees and apple trees withering and an infestation of codling moth throughout. Climate change in action. 😔

#Odyssey In Homer’s Iliad (10.260-265), Odysseus’ helmet is described as being made of boar tusk and leather. The description matches this Mycenaean helmet from Tomb 515, Mycenae, Peloponnese, Greece. Dated 14th-13th century BCE (On display in the National Archaeological Museum, Athens). 📷 me.
