Palestinian, black, trans lives matter. White people chose DEI instead of adhering to Civil Rights Act altogether. We’re still dealing w/after effects of Reconstruction & longstanding, feckless liberal class unwilling to confront fascists. MMT. Punch up.

I am 💯 in agreement w/this, broadly. The challenge & nuance is when people close to you are the Republicans. When it’s family members, friends you’ve known for years, the math is much harder. I don’t know the answers, other than we don’t talk politics & we keep it light—which is unsatisfactory.

Everywhere should be a hostile place for Republicans. They should not be able to find a friend anywhere. They should lose all their professional and familial relationships. They should be blocked from signing up to social media platforms, clubs, and yard sales. They should be ejected from fairs.

Lest anyone object: If the Senate Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee Constitution chaired by Republican Senator Orrin Hatch in 1982 could issue report "The Right to Keep and Bear Arms" willfully subverting 2A jurisprudence and precedent—Dems could surely do this.

I know this would be closing the barn door after he horse has been reelected president, but if Democrats win both chambers I'd really like to see a concurrent resolution deeming January 6 an insurrection under 14(3). 1/

We have to get NBA players away from golf. You are allowed to play golf. But you are not allowed to play golf while being wealthy. That is where other rich guys get you out deep on that green & by the 9th hole they are ushering you through the gateways of NIMBYism & Kalshi shareholding.

The bombing is really intense in Gaza now. Samaa and her family never know when a bomb might hit them, or when another loved one might be killed. They're exhausted from living like this. Please give them some support if you can. Donations can at least ease their worries about food and milk. #Gaza 🍉🍼

Life in Gaza is no longer measured in days, but in the number of times they survive. Between fear, displacement, and a lack of basic necessities, thousands of families are still clinging to hope. If you can help, don't delay. Your solidarity can make a real difference. chuffed.org/project/1575...

It always boils down to this, for Dems. Imagine if Al Gore hadn’t run such an incompetent campaign. Imagine if Kerry hadn’t run such an incompetent campaign. Imagine if Hillary Clinton hadn’t run such an incompetent campaign. Imagine if Kamala Harris hadn’t run such an incompetent campaign.

When I first got super concerned about the climate (probably because of Al Gore’s movie), I never thought it would get this bad so fast—or that people would be so passive about it.

This is the perfect, appropriate use of negative partisanship & framing. Every Democratic candidate out there should speak about the vast majority of their opponents in this way. Every single Repub must be characterized, treated & spoken about in the actual way that they exist in political reality.

The congressman will not answer whether he, or his businesses, or his office, or his campaign have been paying a neo-Nazi.

I mean, imagine a liberal campaign donor for the Dems doing this, and then the ensuing coverage, literally every, all the time, for the next few weeks, months, even years? Every Dem would be on a Sunday show immediately having to respond. It's a trite, redundant observation at this point, but jfc.

The richest, most powerful people in the world are just a bunch of perverts and weirdos. They have the politics of 14-yr old kids who’ve just read Atlas Shrugged for the first time and they envision all public policy through the lens of their own individual vices. Just a bunch of selfish cretins.

We have gradually normalized allowing the obfuscation & normalizing of right wing lies, ginned up moral panics & outright ignorance of the most vital issues of our time by way of bothsides framing, false balance & capitulation. We focus on trans / immigrant panics instead of climate change & more

Iran has always historically been saddled with trying to respond in ways that counter prevailing, Western narratives about terroristic Islamicists gone-awry and "irrational, madman" nation states (which they are not). that is always the broader context for the choices they make, by and large

Good Public Good@kelitupu.bsky.social · 2w ago

def interesting question AND in hindsight, so much easier to raise this question now. Ronald Klain, his successor Zients, etc were proxies back then for the calculation on Iran's part, afaics. same people who excusing Genocide then were in charge & i think Iran knew this & appropriately concerned

Our politics and discourse are shaped mainly by a media and political establishment based on vibes, for the most part, and that the gap between our collective self image as supposed empiricists and the actual reality of how much everything is just...vibes - drives me crazy.

Remember, a long time ago, Rubio was sold to the American public as the new, more moderated and serious face of Republican governance and leadership. He was the nuanced, foreign policy wonk who’d lead conservatives out of the wilderness of neoconservatism and foreig entanglements. Welcome immigrants

Q: Do you rule out striking civilian infrastructure? MARCO RUBIO: Iran's policy is an eye for an eye. The president's policy is a head for an eye. Honestly. That's what it's going to be. They're going to pay a very heavy price. They are going to suffer more. (Definitely not a yes!)
