I think I might have a parasocial relationship blind spot for pets. Like i know that the PERSON i follow absolutely doesn't know i exist irl, but their dog/cat/lizard/whatever who they post pictures of all the time is DEFINITELY my good buddy and you can't convince me i'm wrong about this.

Deep Space Discounts is very cute and good. You can watch all the current episodes in like... one lunch break. Do yourself a favor ;)
There is a certain brand of person who truly believes that "just asking questions" is a valid reason for constantly demanding answers to bullshit hypotheticals that are 100% designed to trick people into laughable false dichotomies. Those people can, and should, be bullied out of public discourse.
I feel like maybe it isn't super great for everyone to constantly be worried this is the last game they'll ever make.
Just finished Hemlock and Silver by T. Kingfisher, and it was so lovely! If you grew up on Mercedes Lackey / Tamora Pierce, you'll find a new favorite here. As someone who first encountered her as an artist on Elfwood, meeting her again in a new artform is an unexpected delight. Really great stuff.
Positive playtester feedback about the story hitting me like Popeye's spinach in the final stretch of this writing gig.
Me: It is super normal to obsessively reread your friends' texts to figure out if they were politely lying about having a good time hanging out with you or not. The Tiny Therapist I Paid to Install in My Brain: [Incorrect buzzer noise]
Oh shit, the new Murderbot book is out?! Everyone shut up, i need to go read more about the scrungly robot and their spaceship boyfriend.
I love me an ornately decorated mundane item. Brass candle snuffer with a flower at the end? Tiny sewing scissors shaped like a bird? Iron ward key with a labyrinth for teeth and a scrollwork handle? That's my shit. If my final furniture doesn't all have clawed feet just know I died mad about it.
If you approach me in a public place and ask me what book i'm reading, but then interrupt me to change the topic before i can even finish giving you the elevator pitch, you immediately lose reputation points with my faction.
The thing about living in the Algorithmic Age is a bunch of hitherto fantastical shit is completely normal now. "Is an invisible, inhuman adversary surveilling my every word and deed, and sending me upsetting visions purely to torment me?" Yeah man, pretty much. We just call it ragebait though.
I love seeing the moment our game's magic system clicks with someone, and they start looking around wild-eyed like they're seeing the matrix. It's all connected, baybeeee! Lovely write-up from Rock Paper Shotgun. Go check out our demo, it's free on steam!
I'm gonna be at #DayOfTheDevs today helping to promote Never's End! Come say hi if you enjoy: - Turn-based tactics - Unusual magic systems - Caring way too much about terrain, elevation, and weather - Discussing the combat benefits of coffee and mushrooms - Me
ICE wearing bodycams is useless without strong, independent oversight that can be trusted to save/publish footage of ICE murdering people. But everyone involved is either a fascist or a collaborator, so the only footage we'll see is propaganda demonizing protestors. It's abolition or nothing.
I wish they would invent a way to focus on your work that didn't involve chugging energy drinks while listening to 5 different white noise / ambient tracks all playing at once.
Some of you have forgotten that only three years ago you were perfectly capable of writing a text, writing an email, telling a bedtime story to a child, and it should worry you that powerful companies have convinced us we can’t do things we’ve been doing since the dawn of time.
You can't logic your way out of being burnt out. Unless you're me. Who should be able to do it and it's a personal failing that I can't
Feels nice to occasionally be reminded that artists have literally always drawn skeletons The Fun Way.

Sharing in case any Loc or VA mutuals have friends lookin' for work! (Note: they later clarified it is 46 pages, not episodes.)
Still looking for someone, haven't found a single person so far (that I can contact). I have a 46-episode script that I need translated. This would be a paid job!
My therapist has to remind me constantly that just because I'm anxious something may happen doesn't necessarily mean it will. #art
Knights of Guinevere is so strong right out of the gate. Corporate dystopia by way of weaponized fandom. An examination of how brands subsume dreams and capitalism makes morals a liability. Generational trauma, neurodivergence rep, class struggle, and eldritch robots? I am all in on this shit.
Just, you know, for the record: If anyone ever tries to create an AI version of me after I am dead, it is my stated wish that you inflict unrelenting bodily injury upon that person until they stop.
Check out the Never's End demo if you're at PAX! You can: - Throw hammers to squish spiders - Set your enemies' clothes on fire - Chop down walls to breach a fort - Toss bad guys into a lake - Use wind to weaponize a cactus - Create an icy slip-n-slide - Make it rain on them foes Plus, cool shirts?!

"We need a Misinformation Podcast for our side. We need a Bribery Billionaire for our side. We need an Amoral Demagogue for our side." No. We need honest, earnest, educated leaders to build new institutions we can believe in. "Fighting fire with fire" doesn't help if the house is already burning.
reposted this today because the inverse is also true: if you abandon trans people right now, you are abandoning civil rights period. if you can't stand up for trans people when it matters, no one should, or will, ever trust you when the bullseye moves to the next target.
the thing about trans rights is that we fight the civil rights issues of our time. nazi chuds have made this the issue of our time. it's not more *important* than other civil rights issues, but it is the battleground of the moment, and we have to meet the moment to support everyone's rights.
That's my gaaaaaame! It's a real thing you can go play! The team worked hard to ensure the demo shows off a little bit of everything you can do, mechanically. If you like turn-based combat, adaptable magic systems, and detailed weapon/armor/attack-type interactions, check out Never's End at PAX! :D

If I could find a way to reproduce deadline-panic productivity without deadline-panic stress, I would be unstoppable.
You probably can't immediately cancel your current credit card in protest. But you CAN call and tell them you're switching to cash for as many daily/weekly purchases as possible until they stop censoring artists. This costs you nothing, but represents a massive loss for them if enough people do it.
