For those playing along at home: To give the appearance of action on the impacts of his humiliating blunder on the world stage, the President of the United States is making a humiliating blunder on the world stage by bailing the Russian president out of a humiliating blunder on the world stage.

Definitely no offence to Winfred but isn't the last word in the sub-headline misspelt?

A burning question for me: Will petrolheads be satisfied with an electric car that doesn't make enough noise?
I wonder what history will be taught about the current era in 50 years time? (If we last that long.)
CEO-to-worker pay ratio in 1965: 20-1 CEO-to-worker pay ratio in 1990: 75-1 CEO-to-worker pay ratio today: 325-to-1 Trickle-down economics was always a sham. Nothing has ever trickled down.
Today, in lying: Trump: “The arrest in the UK was fantastic. Working with Britain, it was an amazing job. “We had them under investigation. They were looking to do big damage to our fort, and working with the British worked out great. “We had them under view for a long time, and we got them.”
"Data is good but understanding, perception, feel and common sense will never be replaced by instrumentation and AI." I wrote this 4 years ago, in a longer piece about sport. I now think that I was wrong, but right.

Jacob Rees-Mogg has put out a video about how everyone needs to "grow up" and put childhood things behind them and show a bit more backbone and be prepared to do things fir themselves. That's Jacob Rees-Mogg who as an adult ... quite literally went canvassing with his nanny.
I don't think we disdain the center-right enough. First, they rode nativist populist tigers to power to get their tax cuts and deregulation; Then, they lost control of their own parties to those tigers; Now, they sit in lucrative jobs as columnists writing about how it's all the left's fault.

For those in the UK and other countries where the lie is called a “war on motorists” rather than a “war on cars,” here’s a poster version for you to use and share. Either way, never forget, if there’s REALLY been any war in cities, it’s been a century-long WAR ON WALKING. #UrbanTruth #WarOnWalking
Bilbao is certainly powerful but everything about his riding style seems to be indexed. #vuelta2026
"The vast majority of the civilians [in Gaza] were killed by two groups. One is the lawyers that legitimized the attacks, and the other is the pilots. And these groups are loved by Israel." Neve Gordon, Professor of International Law, on The +972 Podcast.
We're rapidly approaching the perfect storm: - Climate crisis. Tech control. Corporate government. Global financial implosion. Optimism won't save us - what might?
Currently watching Tour of Britain on TNT which has Soudal sealant ads in the breaks. I wonder if Soudal have a product for the so-called-commentator's loose mouth?
I’m currently watching the Tour of Britain riding through the Yorkshire Dales on the roads where my cycling life was born and bred - both just riding and racing. It makes me simultaneously happy and sad.
I'm quite good at forgetting past events in my life; painful memories, difficulties to get through, things I can't do because of age or health. So I've concentrated on present positives and things I can still do. I'm starting to regret that now as a lot of good times got lost with the bad ones.
My new paper weight. Kudos for anyone under 70 who can name it.
Does anyone recognise these paw/hoof prints? They appeared in the ashes of a small garden fire in the UK.
I can understand people prioritising the here-and-now, like working, paying the bills, enjoying life as best they can. But what about the longer term future? Isn't that what governments are supposed to be concerned with, rather than just firefight and squirm for votes in the next GE?
