It is a pity that I cannot say anymore “as you know from the last Nobel Prize in Chemistry, MOFs are…”
This brings back memories of working on enantioselective catalysis (including reading their papers) during my PhD days…
BREAKING NEWS The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2026 #NobelPrize in Chemistry to Henri B. Kagan and Kenso Soai “for the discovery of non-linear effects and autocatalysis in asymmetric organic synthesis.”

Ever wondered how X-ray diffraction works? Now you are able to visualise it in 3D in your web browser for any crystal structure of your choice. Run it: dubajicmilos.github.io/assets/diffr... The full tutorial video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYKH... The source code: github.com/dubajicmilos...
Next STAMMTISCH is coming up. ⠀ K. Endo & F. Neubauer showed their work at consortium meeting.📣 Now it is time to present it to a greater audience! "Schema-based research data management: concept, tools, and use case in MOF synthesis with ELN" ⚗️ 📆30 Oct 2026, 14:00 CEST https://t1p.de/nx11o
Now I only need 1.5 seconds per paper to check new papers with my graphical abstract browser
It is disappointing that the new RSS feeds of ACS do not provide TOC graphics, so I made a JavaScript-based reader to browse TOC graphics from the current issue page. Goodbye to RSS🪦

I was so late to notice that ACS changed their RSS feed URLs over a month ago!
These days, many useful tools require an API key for AI functions. I just found out that Google Gemini provides API keys for its free plan. Though the quota is limited, it's useful for trying things out. aistudio.google.com/api-keys

ChatGPT Codex is changing my life. Now I can do many advanced data analyses even without looking at the code
I have been using Perplexity Pro for over a year as a go-to LLM tool, but am now switching back to ChatGPT. Its recent developments are remarkable…
New preprint! What should be reported when we publish MOF synthesis? I joined the discussion led by Nicole Jung and Stefan Bräse on a FAIR guideline. "A guideline to FAIR data reporting for metal-organic frameworks" | ChemRxiv chemrxiv.org/doi/full/10....

In case you missed it: @chemicalscience.rsc.org now charges an APC of £2,850 per paper. It was previously free (diamond OA), and in my view it contributed greatly to the appeal and success of Chem Sci. Sad to see the RSC go that way…

It was such a nice experience to come back to ICCC after 8 years. While seeing old friends, there were exciting advancements and new perspectives in the field. I hope my talk about MOCOFs also contributed to coordination chemistry.
Attending ICCC in Odense. I will give a talk tomorrow morning about MOCOFs!
It was a great pleasure to welcome Prof. Shuhei Furukawa (@furukawas.bsky.social) from Kyoto University for a fascinating talk on “Van der Waals Porous Solids.” He shared inspiring insights into metal-organic polyhedra and engaged in lively discussions with our group!
A new preprint! We tested conversion of MOF synthesis data into knowledge graph linked with ontologies, as a part of software development project by our colleagues. This can be useful for standardization and machine-learning of complicated synthetic procedures in the future. arxiv.org/abs/2606.07094
Just noticed the IUPAC definition of MOF was entered in the Gold Book last year, based on the 2013 recommendation. goldbook.iupac.org/terms/view/1...

So far what I have managed is a model of NU-901, or 902, or other scu-net MOFs with orthorhombic symmetry
Nice gadget idea for MOF2026 by @antonpaar.bsky.social, after all that's how Robson started it.. although I could not find a way to make Td nodes. Plenty of time to upgrade it for EuroMOF2027 😏
It was a pleasure to talk about our recent paper in MOF2026, with a lot of discussion about data/AI usage
Our Collaborative Research Center funding is extended! It is my pleasure to be able to continue working with the wonderful team, plus new students and collaborators.
🎉 Great news: our #CRC1333 at @unistuttgart.bsky.social has been granted a third funding period by @dfg.de ! A huge thank you to all CRC members for your outstanding research, collaboration & dedication over the past years — this achievement would not have been possible without you! 👏
