This looks like a very interesting book. Does anyone know if there's a comparable study done on the European market? www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/778487...

The matrix for our current fragment has transformed into a newspaper, Daily Maily, which reports disturbing news, forecasts unpleasant weather and advertises, among other things, the premiere of Wine, Woman and Waterclocks. Time to get out of your inkwell and take a chance on this day in the life.

This was a tremendously insightful, clear and engaging interview, one of the best I've listened to on NBN this year so far. You can feel Greenley's passion for and command of the subject and Rachel Newman, the interviewer, asked some very pertinent questions. newbooksnetwork.com/the-almighty...

🎁 www.nytimes.com/2026/07/16/t...

Someone used A.I. to write my biography. Thousands more of those books are polluting Amazon. Who is behind all this drivel?

I basically agree with Emily Wilson's criticism of the film. An incomplete list of changes and omissions: ↓ Cyclops: wine, Noman, ram-belly ↓ Circe: palace ↓ Queen and prince: nerfed ↓/× The gods... × Nausicaa × Alcious × Aeolus × Olive-tree bed The Trojan horse sequence was well done imho.
Amazon as a company has myriad problems but perhaps the one good thing they've done is the Audible monthly subscription system. It encourages people to listen to one book per month, which is probably a net positive to humanity. If they did more of this kind of thing, the world'd be a better place.

as always my eyes catching anything that looks like a seascape but beautifully fooled here by a scrap of fabric stuck on a bench 🔷
The printer's mark of Pietro Perna has really captured the surprised owl look! From the title page of Ludovico Castrelveto's 'Correttione d'alcune cose del dialogo delle lingue ...' printed in Basel in 1572.
