Wrapped up another faculty retreat with colleagues at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Always great to reconnect at the start of a new academic year!
Always happy for research to involve different kinds of sources 😂
Starting a Christian ed class at my church using @kennethjwoo.bsky.social's book. Really excited to discuss Calvin with folks at my church
Writing a book with my friend, Kyle Dieleman. History is often misused in religious settings. Engaging the past w/ rigor and nuance is essential for carefully considered connections between contexts that can stimulate theological imagination. Look for Preaching with Historical Imagination in 2029 🤞
Enjoyed presenting earlier this month at the European Academy of Religion meetings in Rome. Our panel focused on the development and uses of the Epistolae John Calvin project, which will collect, edit, and digitize Calvin’s letters for further research.
Taking a break to do some touristy things in our hometown on this beautiful afternoon.
