In #MathsToday I learned that my 12FM class know more about rabbits than chocolate bars, IYKYK 🤣 @missradders.bsky.social

#MathsToday I've not had a reply from @nicmaths.bsky.social Does anyone else know the answer to my first question if not the second?
@nicmaths.bsky.social Quick core maths question. Systematic sampling isn't specifically mentioned in the spec. If they give it (or another suitable method they've learned in a different subject) will they still get the marks? Also when will shadow 26 CM papers be released. Thanks
#MathsToday Core maths teachers where do you get your lesson resources from, hit me with the best places. Also, where do you send your students to revise CM? Are there any particular websites to direct them to?

Year 2 Edexcel A Level further maths… point me towards resources that aren’t booklets or books please! I love @draustinmaths.com stuff and have a few Integral resources, but can’t find much else. Please and thank you. #alevelmaths #mathstoday #furthermaths
#MathsToday already got lots of students signing up for AQA L2 FM within minutes of their parents getting the link to the sign up form so it's definitely running next year 🎉 For those of you that run it in your schools, which textbooks do you use?
#MathsToday any thoughts from anyone who is currently teaching it?
#MathsToday I'm telling our students tomorrow about L2 FM that they will be able to do next year. Does anyone have any slides they would be willing to share from when they introduced it? Brief content, that sort of thing. Also, textbook recommendations please.

@vodafonegroup.bsky.social any idea why I have had no signal at home for the last 2 days, it's getting quite frustrating!!
#MathsToday we are hopefully going to run L2 FM again from September. Haven't done it since the new spec. Is there a doc somewhere that lists the parts that are just in FM and which are in the standard GCSE? Could go through spec myself but hoping I don't need to. Also, much change from old spec?
#MathsToday #AlevelMaths is anyone aware of any specific practical applications for the central limit theorem? I was asked by a student. Thanks
#MathsToday #ALevelMaths Any Edexcel A level markers, please advise. In a mechanics paper, if the answer is 1.2 and they write 6/5 as their final answer, will they get the marks or does it have to be a decimal. Would it be different if it was pure?
#AlevelMaths Can anyone who marks Edexcel A level maths confirm whether if a student can't answer part a so makes up an answer which they then use in part b that they will be able to pick up method marks.
#MathsToday can anyone point me in the direction of the document that states minimum teaching hours for GCSE resits. I thought it was changed from hours per week to total hours per year but can't find it now. Thanks
#MathsToday it's been a 5 period day and so far 3 hours of parent's evening. Can someone tell me where the E(X^2) formula has come from. My brain won't maths anymore!
In #MathsToday one of my Y13s asked what I thought about him doing maths at uni. He told me he had totally fallen in love with maths so wanted to carry on with it and not do what he had originally applied for any more. He's not an A* student but it was lovely hearing him be so passionate about it 😍
#MathsToday I vaguely remember something about AQA doing shadow papers for Core Maths. Did I dream it? If it's true can someone point me in their direction. Thanks
#MathsToday I have 12FM tomorrow. I will be starting y13 content after half term. Does anyone have anything nice and maybe a bit different that I could do for an hour. Needs to require minimal planning and be suitable for the full range of ability. All suggestions welcome 🙏
In #MathsToday #AlevelMaths one of the questions highlighted an issue as lots of them divided by sin X and so lost some of the solutions. Does anyone have a collection of questions I can use to try to drum this out of them?
In #AlevelMaths #MathsToday a student asked me if they could be asked to prove the double angle formulae. The spec says "understand geometrical proofs of these formulae" so is that prove them or just be able to follow a proof and maybe spot a mistake? Have there been any questions in the past on it?

In #MathsToday #AlevelMaths I had my last lesson before they sit the CP1 exam next week. One student asked for some more questions like this. Anyone got any I could share with him? Most of the series ones I can find are just Method of Differences. This one is Q7 from CP1 2023. Thanks
In #MathsToday we were discussing Edexcel's AEA papers. I want to use some of the questions with some y12s. Has anyone got a list of which questions are suitable for y12 and which require y13 topics? 🤞
In #MathsToday I've got some students who are struggling with questions like this. Does anyone know where I can find a bank of them for them to practice with?
In #MathsToday a student was answering a vectors question in an Integral topic test that asked them to find the eqn of the line of intersection of planes. There is nothing on this in the textbook or in the spec that I can see. Does anyone know if it has/could come up in the exams?
In #mathstoday I received an email saying I can now login to Pearson's ActiveHub. Does anyone who currently uses ActiveLearn know whether I need to move students over now or whether it can wait until the new school year when I'm adding a new cohort anyway?
My partner and I are on a mission to make £14 each a day in our side hustles to reach get our remaining 10k for a house deposit in a years time. Would appreciate if you could share my etsy shops link 🥰 casacraftsstore.etsy.com
I bought some maths pens. Correct spelling was clearly optional 🤔
