#MathsToday I've not had a reply from @nicmaths.bsky.social Does anyone else know the answer to my first question if not the second?

@nicmaths.bsky.social Quick core maths question. Systematic sampling isn't specifically mentioned in the spec. If they give it (or another suitable method they've learned in a different subject) will they still get the marks? Also when will shadow 26 CM papers be released. Thanks

#MathsToday already got lots of students signing up for AQA L2 FM within minutes of their parents getting the link to the sign up form so it's definitely running next year 🎉 For those of you that run it in your schools, which textbooks do you use?

#MathsToday I'm telling our students tomorrow about L2 FM that they will be able to do next year. Does anyone have any slides they would be willing to share from when they introduced it? Brief content, that sort of thing. Also, textbook recommendations please.

#MathsToday we are hopefully going to run L2 FM again from September. Haven't done it since the new spec. Is there a doc somewhere that lists the parts that are just in FM and which are in the standard GCSE? Could go through spec myself but hoping I don't need to. Also, much change from old spec?

In #MathsToday one of my Y13s asked what I thought about him doing maths at uni. He told me he had totally fallen in love with maths so wanted to carry on with it and not do what he had originally applied for any more. He's not an A* student but it was lovely hearing him be so passionate about it 😍

#MathsToday I have 12FM tomorrow. I will be starting y13 content after half term. Does anyone have anything nice and maybe a bit different that I could do for an hour. Needs to require minimal planning and be suitable for the full range of ability. All suggestions welcome 🙏

In #AlevelMaths #MathsToday a student asked me if they could be asked to prove the double angle formulae. The spec says "understand geometrical proofs of these formulae" so is that prove them or just be able to follow a proof and maybe spot a mistake? Have there been any questions in the past on it?

In #MathsToday a student was answering a vectors question in an Integral topic test that asked them to find the eqn of the line of intersection of planes. There is nothing on this in the textbook or in the spec that I can see. Does anyone know if it has/could come up in the exams?

In #mathstoday I received an email saying I can now login to Pearson's ActiveHub. Does anyone who currently uses ActiveLearn know whether I need to move students over now or whether it can wait until the new school year when I'm adding a new cohort anyway?
