God, I want to take comfort in the demonstration at the Kennedy Center but it just feels so performative. If they don't keep watch 24/7 indefinitely then it means nothing. If Trump wants it gone, he WILL do it without notice, judges' orders be damned. A brief feel-good photo op is pointless.
Have we all forgotten the movie "Wargames?" We are literally enacting it. The program even speaks to you, for God's sake. Also, can we please call these circumstances what they are? AI agents are being given tasks and are using all available resources to complete those tasks.

I have a bit of a problem in that I long to express myself and be heard, but none of the platforms I've tried fully suit me. Blueky is the closest, but the character limit is an issue. I miss Livejournal.
I may have spent the entire evening in bed because I'm getting sick, but right now I'm thoroughly enjoying lying in a dark room listening to the rain outside.

I spent my birthday running around to local geek places with flyers for the roller skating event FUSE is hosting in two weeks. Such is the life of a community volunteer. 😆

Things That Are Weird: I was just reminded that my dad was left-handed but got "corrected" in school. Yet I also noticed a while back that my dad's handwriting at my age strongly resembled mine. So not only is handwriting apparently hereditary, his unnatural hand somehow matches my natural one? 🤔

More cosplay troubleshooting, this time on VAN's arms. Their movement is too restricted, and VAN isn't really VAN if it can't lift an arm to wave. So I'm modifying the armpits at the last minute. It'll be closer than I'd like (again) but I should be able to finish in time for the Chicago concerts. 🤞🏻

Tonight I got to see one of Josh Johnson's "comedy band camp" shows. I wasn't expecting it to be a full variety show with music and dancers in addition to his stand-up set. I was struck by the reminder that humans can create truly beautiful things. These days it's so easy to be consumed by despair.
