Some dev tools are iterating TOO fast these days. They break my workflows without explaining the benefits of the changes. Probably because the changes are not always meant to benefit users but rather to keep the product "feature competitive". Such is life on the bleeding edge. But ugh.

So an AT Protocol PDS can probably get fairly sizeable, especially if new apps keep writing to it. Right? I know it's mostly text and images, today. But at some point will Bluesky (and any other pds hosting provider) need to start charging fees for something that was free in the beginning?
Can't get numb to this: The United States is stuck in a war it started, cannot end, and may further escalate to no avail, having dismantled its diplomatic apparatus, depleted its military stockpile, and destroyed its credibility. A historic strategic mistake harming millions in many different ways.

Laughing at my family watching the World Cup final. They're convinced these soccer players aren't actually in pain after getting kicked or headbutted. I said, "You groan in pain every time you stand up from the couch, hypocrites!"

Yesterday, my daughter recommended this @hankgreen.bsky.social game called Smush. I played a few archived boards and scored okay. Today I nailed it. I should probably retire immediately, but it's too fun.
Listening to this Billy Joel interview. He says, "I recognized I didn't have the same motivation I used to have, so I said stop." At 50 years old, I've been feeling this same thing recently. I don't love it, and I haven't figured out how to deal with it, but it's nice to hear I'm not alone.

The latest phishing scams in my inbox are from big name publishers in the UK who love my novel. They know the way to my heart. Sadly, the emails seem written by AI. And what reputable big name publisher uses an AOL email address? The flattering notes about my novel were a nice pick-me-up, though.
My daughter recently graduated college and moved into her own place. So today I'm moving my home office out of the dining room into her old bedroom. It feels like betrayal and bad parenting, but I'm excited to have space and privacy once again. No one will complain about my clickity keyboard. :)

Has there ever been a Supreme Court with so little respect for precedent? Honest question. I'm not a historian or a lawyer. But it feels like this court is overturning precedent regularly, and not in a "good for the world" or "this is the legal communitiy's overwhelming consensus" kinda way.
