If AI was banned tomorrow, could I still do my work? Easily. I've never had to rely on AI, and I'll avoid it as long as I can. In return I have a question for you: What were you doing 5 years ago when you didn't have all these AI tools to do your work for you? Are you admitting you're incompetent?

+ All the people who are anti-Al or want to slow Al progress, I have one question:
If Al disappeared tomorrow, could you still get through an entire workday without ChatGPT, Claude, or any other
Al tool?
Imagine Al was suddenly banned.
Would you actually be willing to give it up?

#MythAugust They're all meant to be generally equal and balanced parts of the whole they're not at the moment. However, it may look skewed as half of them have portfolios that are more "active" and thus w/ more developed follower systems versus those that are more "passive" functions of existence.

#MythAugust 5 Today is about hierarchy! Who ranks highest or lowest among your gods/spirits/whatever? Is there a consensus about this ranking? As usual, interpret the question as loosely as you need to to fit your specific worldbuilding, and feel free to skip if it's not relevant to you! 😊❤️

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 5:
Let's talk hierarchy! Which of your deities are more powerful/respected? Are there minor deities who serve the big ones?

#SumLuv god this is actually a difficult question. I'm going to cop out and say it was actually via fanfiction like a few others, because my childhood home was full of high fantasy (dad) and mystery/crime (mom) and that's about it. My teens made me want to mentally see characters smooch, ig. 😂

Okay, small thread time regarding the intrusion of intra-corporate vocabulary into the common vernacular. The term "content" was used by businesses for decades internally without this issue. The difference is now that corpo-speak has infected casual conversation

Josh Gondelman@joshgondelman.bsky.social · 2mo ago

My crankiest old man take is that referring to all art/entertainment/journalism/criticism/comedy/advertising as “content” helped pave the way for broad-ish acceptance of AI slop.

Hey remember that fun thread i wrote about how corporate lingo has infected casual vernacular and how language shapes our thinking and how companies always have to be showing profit and growth Excise the brand from your mind. Become human again

On social media, a broad consensus is that you can’t admit to struggle — at least not while you’re struggling. Doing so represents a failure so profound it’s almost existential. How did it become mandatory to demonstrate perpetual growth and progress online?

i have my canon OC ships (shouhana, tenkou, kouini), but in my mind it's an extant piece of media where all possible ships & rarepairs have small but dedicated fanbases that is to say, i can see the appeal behind any combination of these guys

The "gender critical" movement are not appealing their loss in their fight to stop the puberty blocker trial. The "irreversible harm" James is talking about here is people being trans. That's it. Helen Joyce said it clearly, even if trans people say they are happy they consider them to be "harmed."

Puberty Blockers Trial Update

It is with a heavy heart that I announce that we will not be appealing in our failed judicial review to stop the puberty blockers trial.

We looked at every possible angle for appeal but do not believe the merits are there, given how extremely high thresholds involved.

Make no mistake, the High Court judgment does not negate the irreversible harm that will be caused to children who take part in this trial.

Thank you to everyone who supported us during this campaign and I’m sorry to not bring better news.

I will continue to do whatever I can to stop this trial taking place and will be working with colleagues on alternative strategies over the coming weeks.

#SumLuv It is definitely not love at first sight! 😂 I don't think Kenzō gets hit with lust, he more accurately gets pistol whipped with a crazy situation and is totally baited into it with a believable excuse of "she just fed that man to a pig." Mercy's just like brockthinking.png. 🤣 🧵1/2

Meet cutes don't have to be "cute"! They are a plot device 🧡 But! Let's talk about how they DO feel about each other early on! Is it fairytale love? Is it *lust* at first sight? Hate at first sight? All?? Snips here are welcome (always welcome if you want to answer anything with a snip) 🧡 #SumLuv

#MythAugust They're siblings. ✨ Essentially, the Eight were and will be again a whole and are generally arranged in an octagram for interpretation (a "wheel" if you will). Each element as an "opposing" element and their "allied" are found flanking it and their "enemies" flanking them. 🧵1/2

#MythAugust 4 Today, tell me about the different factions among your gods/spirits. Think like the Æsir & Vanir in Norse mythology, or angels & demons in Christianity. What's their relationship? Are they sworn enemies? Sometimes allies? Interpret the question however makes sense for your story!

This is why human art is impactful and important. This little boy existed hundreds of years ago and here we are talking about him and feeling things from his childhood artwork. Art is cool. 800 years distance between us and him and yet through his art we are connected 🖤

Nice AI-image-generating tool, but it will never be as great an artist as Onfim, a child who lived in the Novgorod Republic in the mid-1200s and who scribbled these drawings and schoolwork writings on birch bark at the age of 6 or 7.

Onfim’s drawing of himself on horseback as a warrior defeating an enemy.
