Just in case you need a reminder, the work required to remove level crossings is 100% CAR INFRASTRUCTURE because a dangerously high number of drivers would rather risk their life than be slightly inconvenienced by public transport. This is the cost of having cars, not trains.

Ok shit thing about the CRL, I know there are a few commutes that the CRL has made worse but I've had to do one of them a couple of times already and it's kind of bad. Grafton to anywhere West at peak times suuuucckkks.

I've been saying this for years. The first Death Star was a plant, the partially rebuilt Death Star was not a planet and is actually an asteroid. That's why there was a big monster in the middle.

usually when i hear people say that the moon is a planet, i just have to shake my head. like, yes, if it’s a full moon? okay. you’ve got me there. a full moon is a circle and therefore a planet. outside of that, though, a planet either has to be a circle, like jupiter, or a dot, like stars

I support this! As soon as they build an extensive intercity rail network with stations positioned in the centre of each city, they can name the stations whatever boring non-work name they want. Go on Winnie, do it. I dare you. I'd love to take the train from Auckland Central to Whangarei Central.

So at today's CRL ribbon-cutting the Minister for Rail had a grumble re the new station names in te reo Māori: "All around the world, it's New York Central, London Central; why not Auckland Central Station." Lol, no. It's Grand Central, Paddington, King's Cross, Roma Termini, Gare du Nord, etc 🧐🤓🤷‍♀️
