I am, yet again, putting fans in boxes. Quite early WIP of what might some day live in your hotel room and ventilate suit parts over night so things don't have to stay in the lounge. Fairly compact too, so it can travel with you easily.

Why buy some generic steel L bracket at the hardware store for little money that could be adapted in a few minutes to do the job when you can also CAD the shit out of it for the most overbuild custom solution and turn it into a 15 hour printjob from fiber-reinforced PETG.

One of the worlds largest elevator companies. First the did away with printed drawings to save money, forcing you to use their app - which has no offline mode and doesn't even properly cache. Somewhere in there is the pdf of the drawing - with embedded images instead of vector graphics. 🤯

A friend of mine called me out, totally unjustified of course, over trying to make a part in print that can be had at the hardware store for under 10€ a piece. Currently on the 5th iteration, test print happening right now. Mine looks way cooler than theirs.

Why wouldn't one spend a few hours in CAD to replace a standard part with one that is highly specific to a certain use case for conventions? Guess it also looks nicer, installs much easier and reduces the cost by 3/4.
