Updated #KOSA news here! Tldr: -Senate KOSA passed the markup, onto the Senate floor it goes. -The SCREEN Act had majority votes (15-13) BUT it didn't pass due to attendence failure. They want to do a revote on it so THE FIGHT IS NOT OVER. WE DELAYED THE SCREEN ACT. #KidsOnlineSafetyAct

The Senate Commerce Committee just passed KOSA out of committee with zero debate & failed to move the SCREEN Act. punchbowl.news/article/tech...

SCREEN failed to pass out of committee, despite a 15-13 vote (in favor). Not enough members voting, but looks like a party line vote. Good work everyone! Keep up the pressure for after recess and beyond!

If SCREEN were to pass, you'd be required to scan your face and upload an ID to access this site because it allows "harmful" material. This affects you even if you don't care about sex work or porn.

Here is a list of all the Commerce Committee senators who will be voting on KOSA and the SCREEN Act amongst others tomorrow. We need all their phones ringing off the hook in opposition TODAY! You have no excuse. CALL. Even if they're not your senator. Be polite, but tell them to oppose this!

‼️ACTION ALERT: The Senate Commerce Committee is holding “kids safety” circus again, this time considering both KOSA (the Kids Online Safety Act) & SCREEN Act, two of the most dangerous censorship & age verification bills on the table! CALL YOUR LAWMAKERS & TELL THEM TO OPPOSE 📲 248-331-8665

The image is a graphic poster with a vibrant red background and contrasting dark purple text. At the top, it contains the message: “Senate Commerce Committee is taking up KOSA + SCREEN Act THIS WEDNESDAY” in bold white letters. Below this, in a larger, informal handwriting-style font is the phrase “TAKE ACTION” in yellow. At the bottom of the image is a phone number, “248-331-8665,” displayed inside a rounded rectangle in dark purple. The overall layout is eye-catching and designed to attract attention to the call for action regarding legislation.

The internet without online Age verification is better Its more free, more private, and more expressive Online AV takes away all that for "safety" that doesnt make the internet safer Call your senators to vote no against KOSA, KIDS Act, and SCREEN Act

🚨 URGENT!! 🚨 Last Friday, IL Gov. JB Fritzker has signed the OS-level #AgeVerification bill known as the Children's Social Media Safety Act (HB 5511) into law. Open source OSes will be damned if this law is about to take effect. So we better call on a statewide veto referendum or form a protest.
