I think it's interesting that stealing faces, words, and voices were behaviours historically ascribed to literal demons in various cultural myths across the world but somehow when AI does it, there are people going "isn't this neat?"

I want people to understand the full impact of the devastation that First Nations in Canada are facing. It's NOT just that people and wildlife are losing their homes...it's the history that is being lost for generations to come.

Listen, I love complaining but even I cannot believe some of the things people will complain about. Oh, are there skippable ads in this fun, free podcast? Oh, are there three paragraphs of personal narrative prior to a nice recipe someone has decided to share with you also for free? Good lord.

Just received an unsolicited email about receiving medically supported weight loss treatment from a telecommunications company that has taken control of a portion of healthcare. I am not a customer of this telecommunications company. Everything about this is so grim it's unbearable.

There's a special irk in my heart for this & its converse messaging, "this is how you age when you're unproblematic," often said about wealthy celebs. There are many creative, incisive, earned insults we can level against fascists & transphobes without leaning on a philosophy of Imperative Beauty.
