People in the US didn't suddenly gain access to owning firearms when the Supreme Court rewrote the Second Amendment in 2008, so it doesn't make sense that the Framers connected the two things.

In the context of the Second Amendment, "bear arms" wasn't a description of carrying a weapon to the grocery store. During the founding era, it was a military idiom meaning soldiering, active service, or engaging in combat—not generic personal gun ownership.

The Framers did not view the Second Amendment as protecting individual firearm rights.

Does anyone know a good fashion consultant for neurodivergent people who don't like shopping because they don't like anything?

I am really getting tired of grown babies on Twitter who think that learning about the Second Amendment means everyone is after their gun collections. One guy even dared me to go find some guys with testicles to line up to break into his house to try and obtain his guns that I don't want. So weird..

The Second Amendment doesn't protect private gun ownership. It protects something far more important. Our right to a division in military power. It's to prevent one bad President from using all the armed forces as a tool to support tyranny, the way King George III used the Redcoats.

The second amendment guarantees the right to a militia to guard against federal tyranny. But if a president can use that force against its own state, against the wishes of that state, then it is no militia at all and a clear violation of the second amendment.

If the Framers, like George Mason, thought that all men were part of the militia and would be going forward, then why were they worried about it becoming class-based?

For 218 years, at the Supreme Court level, the Second Amendment protected our right to a well regulated state milita, based on why it was written. For 18 years they have been trying to figure out how to pretend it's about gun control, based on feelings.

The Second Amendment came in to existence to meet this demand (from the Anti-Federalists before they would ratify the US Constitution (quote from George Mason):

Who wants to head on down to Kansas and police the restrooms? We can keep some women out of women's rooms by harassing them and get paid $1,000! Woo-hoo! We can bully people AND get paid for it! ... Why do MAGA legislators keep making hate laws with bounties?

I am not a leftist or a rightist or even a centrist, I am not a direction at all. I am progressive about certain issues and conservative on a whole lot of other issues, but as a person I am neither A progressive nor A conservative.
