Just saw someone lionizing the use of a bot as a copy editor because it can spell and punctuate and apparently understands grammar, though no evidence was supplied. Cool. That’s about 23 percent of copyediting.

Totally shocked as well as delighted to have made the 2026 Wigleaf Top 50! Thank you, Emerge Literary for publishing 'A Word in Edgeways', and Andrew Porter for selecting it! Thanks also to the lovely @kleopatraolympiou.bsky.social, fellow writer and compatriot who messaged to let me know!
Starting this month we’re making a change to how we pay our authors. In some ways it's a process tweak but it's also a really important one: we're paying royalties quarterly rather than twice a year.

After she quit her job, Martha slithered out of her skin, wriggled out of the too-tight pants of herself and stepped out of her tired feet. With some effort, she hauled up this other, scuffed Martha and carefully folded her like a shirt, spreading her heavy arms, then bending them back. She stared at this vacant, limbless mess, then at the blushing skin of her own fingertips, coursing with life. Scissors in hand, she snipped off the other Martha’s head and sealed the body with orderly stitches. Lovely, she thought, and smiled. Ready for the next girl to wear. --- Kleopatra Olympiou is a writer from Cyprus. Her stories have been published in swamp pink, Tiny Molecules, and Flash Flood, among other journals. THANK YOU, Chris Cotonou, for putting into words everything I have been complaining about in the past few weeks
What the Hellenic! Why is Christopher Nolan’s new Greek epic entirely devoid of Greeks?
Just over here doing the final proofread for my book, swimming again in these moments.
A heads up that there are scam emails going around impersonating me seeking author submissions for Charco Press. I do not acquire books for any publishers and the only legit email address from us ends with charcopress.com Please don't reply to any emails that don't feel right!
