Our house is being inspected from 8-12 today. Do you know how much I don't want to be dressed and out of the house at 8AM? (I chose to work alternative shifts any time I could for my whole life so I could to avoid this.)

I shouldn’t buy a new book, probably, for years. I’ve been going through the various services I use and the number of books I own and don’t remember reading should keep me in material for a ridiculous amount of time. And that’s with Audible hiding everything I bought before June 2012.

Amazon is manipulating your digital purchases. When I looked for an audiobook I purchased in 2014, I was told: "Sorry, it looks like this title is no longer available. We apologize for the inconvenience." But, if I look at a list I made that includes that book, I can download it.

I love all these shapes of all these people in all these colors! (I think my friend, Myra, participated in one of his collective photos. It was naked women making a peace symbol, lying on the ground. Every shape, size and ethnicity. hyperallergic.com/required-rea...

I'm through in the yard for today. We need to clean out the shed and then we'll be done with everything besides basic maintenance outside until we close. I'm going to donate most of the big tools (shovels, hoe, rake, canvas wheelbarrow) to the camp my BIL supports. Empty pots will go to the MGs.

I started The Blessing Way by Tony Hillerman today. It's strange hearing it read by George Guidall. I'm used to that voice reading The Dark Tower series to me.

Usefulness today: I have cleared out all the cypress vine growing by the front stoop. It hadn't started blooming yet, so the new people shouldn't have to deal with it there. I did plant some by the fence and it's coming along. They'll still have some. Just, not making a mess by the front door.

In the middle of a tornado watch last night, we got an offer on the house. It was a great offer and we accepted. We clost on September 10. We will have closed on the condo on August 19. 🌪️🌀🌪️🌀🌪️ (Those are tornadoes and cyclones, if you don't recognize the emojis. This has been a whirlwind.)
