Our house is being inspected from 8-12 today. Do you know how much I don't want to be dressed and out of the house at 8AM? (I chose to work alternative shifts any time I could for my whole life so I could to avoid this.)

Do you suppose when we finally get moved I will sleep through the night again? The 4AM monkey mind is getting really old.
Just some ocean gymnastics (please can we finally do something about our planet rapidly warming 🙏)

I shouldn’t buy a new book, probably, for years. I’ve been going through the various services I use and the number of books I own and don’t remember reading should keep me in material for a ridiculous amount of time. And that’s with Audible hiding everything I bought before June 2012.
I remember. She was phenomenal.
#OTD in 1992 at the Barcelona Olympic Games, Jackie Joyner-Kersee won the gold medal in the heptathlon, becoming the first person in history to win back-to-back Olympic titles in the multi-event sport. She is widely considered one of the greatest female athletes of all time. #WomenInSport #champion
😔 There was a young man with AIDS who came to my hospital. He was so emaciated. He said “I wish you would take off those masks so I could just see the faces of the people taking care of me.” And he was …. His eyes were leaking. I said,” I’m not afraid of your disease. I’m wearing all of this…

Amazon is manipulating your digital purchases. When I looked for an audiobook I purchased in 2014, I was told: "Sorry, it looks like this title is no longer available. We apologize for the inconvenience." But, if I look at a list I made that includes that book, I can download it.
If contracts weren't already involved, I'd change my mind about moving. We THOUGHT we had kept clutter under control. Boy, were we wrong.
I love all these shapes of all these people in all these colors! (I think my friend, Myra, participated in one of his collective photos. It was naked women making a peace symbol, lying on the ground. Every shape, size and ethnicity. hyperallergic.com/required-rea...

I'm through in the yard for today. We need to clean out the shed and then we'll be done with everything besides basic maintenance outside until we close. I'm going to donate most of the big tools (shovels, hoe, rake, canvas wheelbarrow) to the camp my BIL supports. Empty pots will go to the MGs.
I started The Blessing Way by Tony Hillerman today. It's strange hearing it read by George Guidall. I'm used to that voice reading The Dark Tower series to me.
Usefulness today: I have cleared out all the cypress vine growing by the front stoop. It hadn't started blooming yet, so the new people shouldn't have to deal with it there. I did plant some by the fence and it's coming along. They'll still have some. Just, not making a mess by the front door.
I am, indeed, staying mad.
As we watch The Great Trading Path here in Mebane get turned into "The World's Largest Letigious Fossil Fuel and Factory Meats Warehouse with Underground Storage Tanks" along our Back Creek it's nice to know that @lastweektonight.com is offering some merch to let them know how we feel: buc-off.com
Lay's Southern Biscuits and Gravy. But, they don't make them any more. It was like Ranch, but with sage instead of dill. I recently discovered Lowcountry Kettle chips and their Holy City flavor uses red wine vinegar and that's a nice variation. Of the readily accessible, ranch.
What is your favorite flavor of potato chip?

In the middle of a tornado watch last night, we got an offer on the house. It was a great offer and we accepted. We clost on September 10. We will have closed on the condo on August 19. 🌪️🌀🌪️🌀🌪️ (Those are tornadoes and cyclones, if you don't recognize the emojis. This has been a whirlwind.)
What the hell is wrong with people? Why is this even being suggested, much less pushed for?
