We ended up finding a dahlia garden today which was an unexpected surprise. It reminded me of Ladd’s in Portland where the rows and rows of roses are thoughtfully cared for by volunteers.

Two weeks ago we moved to San Francisco and I’ve been thinking about how to capture the small adventures we’ve been having.

Just got this photo of me from a friend. (Pardon the posture.) The setup yesterday was two 24” Ooni Koda ovens and a 12” Koda Volt. I’m blessed with pizza friends who are willing to go hog wild on these with me. (If you have any pizza questions, or about the setup in the pic, I’m happy to answer!)

I'm working with a team of user researchers in Rwanda. They asked me to find great online resources to help them upskill, especially in qualitative research methods and creating effective documentation. Are there any courses, videos, etc. that you'd recommend?

Winter storms always reveal beautiful textures and colors on the beach. Here’s to finding more unexpected joy in 2025.

If you or someone you know has a blog or newsletter writing about software engineering, please share it! Bonus points if there's a RSS feed. I'm working on a newsletter project launching in a few weeks and would love to highlight more voices than the first thing that shows up on a Google search.

I stumbled upon this lil’ cutie yesterday and stopped to talk to the owner (I love micro cars!) It’s a Nissan S-Cargo 🐌 (yes, that’s the actual name), and it’s every bit as adorable as you’d imagine.

Tiny micro car that is shaped like a snail but colored orange and white.
