This is well worth the read - and the repost. It explains so many of the principles on which a working society is based - things which the right-wing are constantly trying to undermine. Progressives of all hues need to reassert them just as constantly.

Saw The Odyssey. A good, not great movie. I’d give it 6.5 out of 10. Probably better in the theater. Some more thoughts: This is The Odyssey of Nolan, not The Odyssey of Homer. They say artists steal, b/c that’s how you make something your own. If you go in wanting Homer, you’ll be disappointed.

Is "AI" conscious is just a completely worthless question. The answer is "yes" if you purposely define consciousness to include things AI can do, and "no" if you purposely define consciousness to exclude it, because there is no neutral way to define it. But it's also *irrelevant*.
