Me, while eating dinner outside in NYC: This place looks like it is next to CBGB. Me a moment later after looking CBGB up on Maps: I'm sitting staring directly at CBGB. It's a John Varvatos now? After dinner, we peered into the windows and it looks like it's a preserved space and a store?!?! OK.

A photo of a brick building in NYC. It is fairly nondescript with reddish brick, windows with air conditioning units in them. On the bottom floor is retail space. There is a black awning which read john varvatos on them with the address 315 Bowery.

After my weekend in Ann Arbor, I drove to Oberlin to drop off some fiber at For Ewe. Then, to Pittsburgh for the night. In the morning, I visited an old bestie at the Heinz History Center—When I came close to the exhibit and heard Mr. Rogers singing, I welled up. I miss him.

A museum exhibit of Mr. Rogers’ entryway. A mannequin of Mr. Rogers (who kind of resembles Fred Armisen here) is a wearing his trademark cardigan and is changing his shoes, which is how he started each episode. The famous castle of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood. The King Friday puppet is standing in the center of it.
King Friday up close. The famous tree of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood. There is a yellow birdhouse in the branches and a wooden door which used to open for X the Owl.

And speaking of fiber--I've been dyeing a lot of new fiber to take with me to my pop up event at Spun Ann Arbor this coming weekend. I'll be there Saturday and Sunday. Hope to see you there! If you can't make it to the event, I do have some fiber that I quietly put into the shop last week. 🧶🧶🧶

A braid of hand dyed spinning fiber coiled into a circle. The colors are bright violet, chartreuse, pink and rust. A hand dyed braid of spinning fiber coiled into a circle. The colors are gray, green, gold, pink, periwinkle.

Spinners, how's your Tour been? I have been doing some spinning myself when I have a few minutes and it's been doing wonders for my nervous system. I mostly spin braids that have seen better days or are mess-ups in the dyeing process-- These are BFL/Silk and Polwarth/Silk. 🧶🧶

Two twisted hanks of handspun yarn on a white background. The left skein is a teal and gray and gold color scheme, the right is a tan, sage green, cream and light blue.

Taking a quick break from loading the car to admire my new WIP. I’m determined to use up a lot of leftovers in this Old Shale blanket. Loving the way the colors are flowing so far. Yarns are being held double. Since the balls are different amounts, colors are added randomly. See you tomorrow! 🧶🧶🧶

A knitting project is laying on a wood table. There are two balls of yarn attached. The pattern is an Old Shale or feather & fan.

Grateful to have gotten some good rain last night! And for cooler temperatures. Our sweet Duncan does appear to have lost his hearing, he didn't react at all to fireworks this past weekend. I'm glad it was not a stressful holiday for him.

Planning to fire up the grill at 9am tomorrow because of the ridiculous temperatures and humidity. We suspect our dog Duncan is losing his hearing. Tomorrow night will be a big test of our theory.

Finished listening to Yesteryear. My opinion on the writing went up a bit but part of the ending just didn’t land, IMO. I get what the writer was after and like that they are engaging with the issues they are presenting. It was riveting at parts, for sure. I give it 3/5.

Couldn’t sleep last night so I went and spoiled the ending of Yesteryear for myself. It gave me enough of a twist to want to continue listening to it. I don’t think the writing is very strong, but I will finish. As a yarn dyer who has watched tradwife aesthetics dominate the market, I have feelings.

I bought a hot pepper plant from Costco and I cannot keep up with the amount of peppers it is yielding. Should I try to pickle them? I throw them into dishes here and there but I have sooooo many. I also accidentally planted a Caroline Reaper pepper plant. More on that later, LOL. #gardening

My website is increasingly under attack--probably by bots mining listings again, but it could be more malicious. I know that malicious actors will copy a website and set it up under a different domain and then steal from people who think they are buying from me. Cont'd 1/2
