One person was injured in a shooting near Russell Field in North Cambridge on Tuesday afternoon, according to Cambridge police. Cambridge Emergency Communications received multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots in the area at approximately 3:20 p.m. “Upon arrival responders located one victim suffering from related injuries,” police wrote. ShotSpotter was not a factor in response to the shooting, according to a Cambridge police spokesman, who said that North Cambridge is well outside the coverage radius of the ShotSpotter system. The victim was transported by emergency medical services to a local hospital. Their condition was not immediately known, police said. Cambridge police and regional law enforcement partners remained at the scene Tuesday afternoon investigating the circumstances of the shooting. 2026 Bow Tie Bike Ride

Trace the city's bow tie shape on the annual Bow Tie Bike Ride, hosted by the Cambridge Bicycle Committee and Department of Transportation! This relaxed, family-friendly ride will start and end at Sennott Park—rain or shine—near the intersection of Broadway and Tremont St. The ride will leave promptly at 10:00 a.m. and return by noon. Bike mechanics will be available before the ride to make quick safety checks. No bike? No problem! Anyone 16 and older can request a free Bluebikes pass by Thursday, October 1, by emailing bluebikes@cambridgema.gov. You will need the Bluebikes app to redeem the pass. Stay tuned for route updates by signing up for Community Bike Ride email alerts or by checking the Cambridge Bike Rides website as we get closer to the October 3. There is no registration or charge for the tour—just show up and enjoy!

Taking Back Sunday with Thrice and Saves the Day is moving from The Palladium Outdoors to the DCU Center this Saturday, September 26, due to the forecast. Already have tickets? Your existing Tixr tickets remain valid. No exchange is needed. General admission guests should enter through Doors 11–12 via the Novalarm Pavilion; accessible entry is at Door 13. Premium ticket holders should check their email for early entry details. Premium Palladium Outdoor Experience ticket holders may enter early from 5:15–5:50 PM at Door 14 via the Novalarm Pavilion. Check in at the Premium table inside to receive your reserved lower-level seat ticket and wristband.
