Keir Starmer should condemn Trump’s illegal action in Venezuela. Maduro is a brutal and illegitimate dictator, but unlawful attacks like this make us all less safe. Trump is giving a green light to the likes of Putin and Xi to attack other countries with impunity.
Reminder, Maduro was the one who took the government by a coup when he stole the elections last year. This is a whole mess, and you don't have to like our Opposition leaders if you don't want to. But respect the fact that WE Venezuelans choice them, Edmundo is our president, and we stand with Maria.
I have spoken with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and our Ambassador in Caracas. The EU is closely monitoring the situation in Venezuela. The EU has repeatedly stated that Mr Maduro lacks legitimacy and has defended a peaceful transition. (1/2)

How long before he decides to bomb a couple of NATO members to get his own way? The USA is a rogue nation.
Maduro has allegedly been abducted and removed from the country along with his wife according to Trump. I am not sorry that a tyrant and ally of Putin has fallen but the US is now like Russia a rogue state with a fascist ideology dominating its actions.

Maduro is a brutal and oppressive dictator of Venezuela. Trump has no legitimate legal basis for military action against Venezuela under United States or international law. Both of those facts are simultaneously true.

This is true. I kept hoping that the US would mobilise around national survival. A nation can be destroyed without a single bomb from a hostile force. However, the ploy also boxes both Trump and Putin in and bleeds authority from the White House.
Phillips OBrien@phillipspobrien.bsky.social · 10mo agoNot sure people are getting the real importance of the Russians fooling Trump about the Ukrainians attacking Putin's house. It was to demonstrate just how much they control his thinking--how much he is in their pocket. And it worked.
The Trump Admin has repeatedly demonstrated to allies around the globe that US security guarantees mean nothing as long as Trump is president. He won’t even agree to abide by the NATO charter, so how can he be trusted to honor any Ukraine deal.
