I have convinced my partner that we should start playing Blood Bowl, but their condition is that they get to play as the Gnomes. It might be that we will both have to play Gnomes. Look at these minis!!! (Especially the fox with the ball and the goose).
You can kill a French vampire with a baguette. It's a painstaking process but it works.
Probably the last one I'm finishing before summer vacation is over. I'm quite happy with how the color gradations on the skin and the loincloth turned out with this one!

AC and other cooling measures are increasingly necessary even in places where they weren't before. AC increases energy consumption and is often used when not strictly necessary. Both things can be true at the same time.
New data on the efficacy of the Australia social media ban are worse than I thought. A new study in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) reports that over 85% of teens under 16 are still using social media. The 'friction' introduced by the ban seems very minimal. www.bmj.com/content/393/...

We argue that this fits squarely into an emerging body of research that all points the same way: car culture and motonormativity are so entrenched, it's too late for information and incentives to make the difference. 'Hard' measures are needed if we want to get serious about reducing car harms 7/10

I HATE CITATION LIMITS! I do not understand why scientists should be forced to choose which statements to soften or leave unsupported in order to meet antiquated rules based on reducing physical pages!
Happy Pride Month! In Finland 8 % of young men, 24 % of young women and almost 90 % of young non-binary people report belonging to a sexual minority. In young women this proportion has doubled since 2020. Gay is the future, gay is the present.
Old Twitter hands down. I once spent an entire night arguing with a member of parliament about whether it's harmful to let cats roam free outside in densely populated areas. Fun times!

My favourite piece of journalism on the social media ban was the wholesome story about the school that turned things around as students returned to gambling with cards again.
I just used mixture survival models (bernoulli—log-logistic) to analyze response rates to a survey we ran. Was it overly complicated? Yes. Still worth it? Also yes.

Growing old so it's time to return to all the hobbies I had when I was a teenager, such as painting small plastic people. I'm very happy with the model on the left, considering it's the first mini I've painted in 20 years.
