Agender, any pronouns. Driftless Region, WI. Fantasy & Sci-fi writer. www.krholton.com THE LAST FIRSTBORN is coming Oct 13th! Would you like to buy me a coffee? https://krholton.com/about#tip-jar

Putting aside the myriad issues of producing gen AI, that it's shown how many folks are incurious, lazy and utterly willing to sacrifice their ingenuity and creativity because they no longer seek to think for themselves is depressing. Truly, want more for yourself. Want better.

Starting the messy process of plotting book 3 of my Prophets of Nexus trilogy. In some ways it feels easier because I know what threads I'm working with, but in most ways it feels way more complicated to have to tie up all those loose ends! #WritingCommunity #WriteSky

Chapter 9 of my urban romantasy serial just dropped! Read for free on Royal Road or my website! In this chapter, Lorem chooses to do the hard thing, because anything is better than turning around and facing her reality. #RoyalRoad #Serial #Romantasy buff.ly/SZA6DMW

The Revision of Lorem Ipsum [Urban Romantasy]

Lorem was born a placeholder. Can a place that doesn't technically even exist help her find what it means to be a person? Lorem's does her best to stay hidden. She's good at becoming small,…

I do not like this gen AI I do not like what it implies I do not want it in my art I do not think it makes you smart I do not want it in my games I do not like its goals and aims I do not want it in my books I do not like the way it looks I do not like it, I don't care I do not want it anywhere

Sometimes, things just aren’t for you. Doesn’t require your immediate condemnation or a guillotine. Doesn’t require dismissal or immediate reprisal. Just ain’t for you, dawg. And that’s fine.

I have always felt uncomfortable in my own skin, especially when having to "perform" gender. As a teen and YA, I blamed it on the depression. I didn't find out that agender was even an option until I was like 30.

I'm always so curious about when trans and nonbinary folks realized what they were. Like, my wife didn't realize she was genderfluid until well into her twenties, but I knew I wasn't a girl or a boy before I was even ten years old.

In writing too! Looking back on things I wrote even just a few years ago is weird. I see so many things I'd like to fix, paragraphs that should flow differently, descriptions that feel basic now. I'm trying to take this as a sign that I've improved rather than an opp to shit on my old work 😆

It's kind of wild (in a fun way) to revisit old art that you remember thinking was really hot stuff when you drew it, and now it looks very primitive. The leaps in skill you can make through practice and determination are super rewarding. Enjoy the journey 💜

Listening to some of my favourite songs whilst reading posts about AI 'products'. The contrast between real human art and disposable occupiers of space/absorbers of money is reigniting the memory of the white dog shit on the pavement in the 80s. You may think it's doing the job, but it isn't.
