Setting up a new Google Workspace account. It’s always DNS. Still.
I like how "Explicitly. Out loud." is emphasized here - being seen as strategic is somewhat what you do, but often more about what you are seen to be doing. Which unfortunately does mean you have to talk about what you are doing, and why it is important. kieransnyder.kit.com/posts/be-mor...

So, I am writing a post about "why Bending Spoons picking up Airtable is everything bad in tech right now" — which questions do you want to make sure I answer in the piece?
there's nothing here that didn't feel clear to me already, that was a super novelty, but man it felt so good to read. was so sensible & fresh & inspiring to see in print. "dev tools must be open source." AND now we can actually have our llm's run the maintenance loops!! blog.exe.dev/devtools-mus...

I feel like an old person for saying this but people are getting dumber and more entitled each year. I agree we all need to build defense mechanisms for a world where half the voters chose Trump and every major U.S. government cabinet member is a grifter that’s dumber than a pile of bricks.
It’s been over two decades living in the Seattle area and Katie Wilson is but the latest in a succession of incompetent mayors. And Shon Barnes is but the latest to go through the revolving door of police chiefs. Seattle is leading the country in FAFO.
Seattle City Hall rarely runs smoothly. This week it hit new lows
The spectacle of the neophyte mayor and the frequent flyer police chief, both failing at their jobs when they were needed most, is not going to pass lightly.

Day 1 of my detoxification from OPAIP* * Other People’s AI Psychosis
Microsoft had its best stock single day stock performance since 2008 this week and Amazon is now ripping as well. The reason for both is that demand for AI services is skyrocketing and they can’t build datacenters fast enough to keep up. It’s a gold rush and the hyperscalers have found the gold
This is timely. I’ve been debating whether to move from my M3 MacBook Air to an MBP (or MacBook Ultra OR get an M5 Mac mini and downsize to a MacBook Neo. Mostly because I suspect I’ll be using @exe.dev for development in the future. 🤔
going to use it as my travel macbook. my older 16” macbook pro is way too heavy to travel with (in addition to a work mbp). now that everything is better set up for remote work off an old mbp in my spare room this is gonna be prefect since i don’t need the m-series processors anymore.
Had a great meeting with a designer this week for a new site I’m building. I tend to have strong opinions but when it comes to design, I defer to experts (but I know what I like!) While I could use Claude or any other AI tool for this, I’m a product of the early Web. The human element matters.
ATProto builders, I've been having some really positive conversations with multiple funders who want to invest in the ecosystem. The tides are shifting, the interest is here. But, we need to talk. 👇
