In panel 1, the gryphon is still wearing the skull but feels something strange. He raises his right hand, a blue aura around it, and he thinks aloud, "Wh- is something happening to me?"

The word "me" is underlaid with a second word in red, also "me," but in a fashion to suggest a secondary thought or consciousness...

In panel 2, the gryphon raises his left hand, the same blue aura enveloping it now, too. He thinks, "Shit... Feels like I've set something off..." but in the back of his mind, he thinks, "...something good..."

The word "I've" is underlaid with a second red word, "he's," further indicating there's a second consciousness awakening.

In panel 3, the text reads double:

Gryphon: "I feel like... I have so much... energy!"

Red underlaid text: "He feels like... he has so much... MANA!"

The gryphon's eyes glow through the skull's sockets, each radiating lightened blue & yellow energy which spans across the panel.

In panel 4, it is a rear view of the gryphon, but something is happening. Sinew and brown fur is stretching across his back and over his wings. He extends the wings with a "FWOOSH!" sound effect.

In panel 5, the flesh and fur progressively wrap around his left arms and hand in 3 stages, ultimately enveloping it and converting his talons with a new, beefy hand-paw with sharp claws, accompanied by a "SHINK!" sound effect.

Panel 1 has an anthro gryphon holding up a large creature skull and pondering whether he regrets an impulse purchase. He says, "Maaaaaan, impulse buys... Where would I even put this?"

Panel 2 is the gryphon recalling the wolverine who sold it to him, Higgs, saying, "Just some dusty old skull. I'll part with it on a discount!" then muttering to himself, "Don't remember where I got it, tho..."

Panel 3, the gryphon is holding the skull over his head and thinking, "Hm. Would it fit over my head?"

Panel 4, the gryphon has successfully put it over his head, and it fits just right. He is oddly proud of this, hands on his hips while thinking to himself, "... Nice."
