The thing that most confuses me about the current state of tech is how some of y’all are still having fun. I’m not saying you shouldn’t be. Believe me, I’m impressed. I just don’t know how you’re doing it. Almost nothing about it excites me, and I don’t know how you’re not responding the same.

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

I wrote three more potential stanzas for the chorus, and I’ve been humming melodies and harmonies all day. Even figured out this cool little call & response part in the chorus the harmonies will do. I haven’t felt this kind of energy in forever, y’all.

First time in about a year and a half that this floor has… well, flooring. Not sure the paint ideas we had are gonna work out, but hey, floors!

I think one of the things that is making AI really hard for me is I would rather do the work correctly, than review if the work is correct enough. I don't want to have to keep micromanaging an AI away from bad patterns.

Let’s assume for a second AI is making you more productive. Is it making your life any better? Are you healthier? Happier? Have more free time? Have richer social lives? Greater fulfillment? I’m not being hyperbolic, the main thing AI has increased in my life is misery. How am I supposed to act?

I can write the correct your/you're all day. I can handle their/there/they're no problem. But I constantly type the wrong it's/its even when I know better.

It’s genuinely just fun to write. The language is quite small, so you’re rarely waffling over anything. You just keep reaching for the same great tools and solving your problems. My next Advent of Code will be in Gleam for sure.

Everyday I log on here, and I see a bunch of posts of people doing cool things with Gleam. It’s such a cool language, just makes me happy to see. Wish I had more excuses to keep using it and learning it.

Do you know how I know things are really bad here? I have a disabled mother and two disabled sisters. All of them can’t work and have been on Social Security for a long time. They have never needed my help to get by. Til now. All of them have had to ask me for money for food this year.

Question for my CSS friends: I have this table in my golf stats app. Look at the cell borders. Any thoughts on how I could improve this? Doing border separate looks horrible no matter what I do, but border collapse doesn't let me control which cell's border wins over its neighbors.

I’m of a generation where I was bullied & picked on because I had glasses. Had many pairs broken during these altercations. While I’m really happy kids don’t face this same harassment anymore, I think I’d be willing to make an exception to bring it back for adults wearing these.
