If you would like a spicy book with an ace-spec lead, may I reccommend Kiss Me, Maybe by Gabriela Gamez and For the Plot by Emily B Rose
ace books can be spicy by the way
It's late so probably nobody will see this but I went a little feral, wrote nearly 7k words in one sitting, and finished the first draft of ghost ex book.
doing things to the characters again
letting the characters kiss a bit. as a treat.
Sometimes I am editing or doing a beta read and think of feedback that might be useful to other people. So I draft it up... and save it in drafts until enough time has passed that it doesn't feel like it's about the one specific person I was working with. And this is why.
Another all-timer was an agent who requested a full, sent me a (very nice!) rejection, then within 10 minutes posted on twitter that she wanted GOOD lighthouse books from authors :-) I feel like enough time has past that I'm telling this in jest, not sadness or anger! Querying is a wild experience!
I like writing romance because every time I have an indulgent plot idea I'm like hell yeah I'm gonna do it. Which is how I write other genres, but in romance I worry less about the readers rejecting it.
Furthermore, I'm going to see Evanescene in concert tonight and I have the perfect goth girl dress but I can't bring myself to wear black velvet to an outdoor concert in this heat.
It's like 100 degrees here and I hate summer and I hate heat and all the stores are taunting me by putting out Halloween stuff.

Yes writing Twitter was terrible in a lot of ways, but there was also a whole scandal involving soap shaped like a penis, so there was also tremendous entertainment value.

As an asexual, I think it's important to deconstruct your experiences and feelings around sex. As someone unlearning purity culture, I think it's unhealthy to constantly question and pick apart your sexuality. I'd like to think there's a balance between the two.
Hey, the court just gave final approval to the settlement in Bartz v. Anthropic. I'm reading through the order right now. www.courtlistener.com/docket/69058...

As someone who hates food fear-mongering, I recently got annoyed by people talking about their meat "not even being all meat" so I looked into it. And you know what the non-meat content in their beef is? Oats. They add oats as a binding agent to make it more moist.
A quick word on Taco Bell: That's where we found the suspected lettuce, and it's not bc Taco Bell is gross. It's bc Taco Bell is REALLY GOOD at tracing product! Keeping track of exactly where they got their ingredients, & exactly what restaurants each shipment of ingredients went to!
I passed 50k words on this recently, and it's proving to be one of the most cathartic things I've ever written.
New WIP teaser: Autumn is being haunted by her ex-situationship. Literally. Three years after the death of her friend and long time crush, his ghost won't leave her alone. And when she starts to fall for someone else, his hauntings only intensify. Demi bi girl X soft bi boy
As a GM this was SUCH a fun mix of personalities to play with, and the players have some really fun RP moments throughout.
Absolutely love how each of these teens is unprepared to be on a new team for different reasons butbthat they all really want to be chosen for it

Played two truths and a lie at work and all my coworkers told me I was great at lying. Like thanks, I have a lot of practice being a closeted queer person.
Me: I'm going to name an evil character after this person who wronged you boyfriend: I mean I'm sure she's not evil, we just don't get along Me: Might kill the character off too
There was a lot I liked about Supergirl. Solid emotional backbone, fantastic performance by Milly Alcock. Felt distinct from Superman.
Haven't seen Supergirl but after years of every superhero movie insisting on world or galaxy ending stakes, a movie with the stakes of "girl saves cherished dog" really appeals to me.
Just a little over $2000 to go before we're FULLY FUNDED! We're down to the wire folks, with about three days to go, so let's get this over the hump and across the finish line! 🙌
Our Kickstarter is live! Help support another year of speculative fiction by immigrant & diaspora writers over at @Kickstarter. 🧡 With your help, we can keep funding our work, expand to regular author interviews, raise our artist pay, & more! Support us at: www.kickstarter.com/projects/kho...
Not sure exactly how old I was when I wrote and illustrated "America U.S.A Smymbul Book" But I'm guessing not very 😂
How old were you when you wrote your first story/book? I love stories about lil bb writers. But it's just as valid if you didn't fall in love with writing until you were an adult. We all find pieces of ourselves at different paces, and that's more than okay--it's magical. #writersky

AI is like if someone stole all the apples off my friend's tree and tried to sell me an apple pie. Whether the pie tastes good (it doesn't) is actually irrelevant to whether I'm going to buy it.
Kind of obsessed with this patch job I did on the corner of the couch that my cat tore up. Before/after
This will be a thread of tips for people suffering through their first god-awful heat wave with no or subpar AC. I'm a perpetually broke Southern Californian so my ideas run cheap.
I want you to have a good day so I'm going to show you pictures of the kittens my friend is fostering.
Watching Felix again and we're besties now
Felix would like it to be known that he disapproves of me cat-sitting him.
