MANTO ist eine LOD-Ressource, die sowohl die Interaktionen von Menschen, Orten und Objekten innerhalb der griechischen Mythologie als auch die Auswirkungen dieser mythischen Wesen auf die historische Landschaft des Mittelmeerraums modelliert. Die Daten basieren vollständig auf Aussagen aus antiken Quellen. In diesem Artikel stellen wir die Ziele und Erfolge dieses Projekts vor. Wir beschreiben die grundlegende Ontologie und die Methoden der Datenerhebung, einige Möglichkeiten, wie die resultierenden Daten abgefragt und visualisiert werden können, sowie die Beziehungen zu anderen digitalen Projekten im Bereich der Altertumswissenschaften. Außerdem stellen wir eine Fallstudie zur Verwendung der Daten bei der Visualisierung der Lage und Bewegung mythischer Relikte vor, die von Pausanias beschrieben wurden.
